Mono Burger — Local services in Leuven

I had two separate experiences here. Hence the three stars. 1- First time really great staff and delicious food. On the pricy side but worth the money. Could be the best burger in town. ( order the signature burgers not the normal ones. ) 2- Second time was completely opposite. First of all was the stubborn staff at the counter. The small plastic pots that the sauce is served had run out so not possible to order the in house sauces. Then why spend 20 bucks on a burger? I asked to put the sauce in another container like the small cardboard boxes on the counter. “Sorry it’s not out policy”. Never heard something so ridiculous in my life especially at a place which charges so much for food. (Even at Burger King they wouldn’t do this and they’re half the price. ) Finally placed a call to the manager who thankfully saw through the ridiculousness and said of course we can get the sauce in another container why not. Of course the staff didn’t like that I called the manager and the food was lackluster obviously on purpose or perhaps due to lack of skill which was present on the first time we went. So in summary fantastic food but some staff need training in customer management. They belong on an immigration counter not on a burger house...

2 days ago I ordered from Mono Burgers in Leuven via Deliveroo, and I must say, the experience was fantastic! Their food was delivered promptly and arrived in perfect condition, retaining its warmth and freshness.

I tried the Blacka and Red Spicy burgers, and both were absolutely delicious. The Blacka had a deep, savory flavor with well-balanced toppings, while the Red Spicy offered the perfect level of heat without being overwhelming, it uses a green juicy jalapeno to achieve this, the burger is a bit wet because of this but I didn't mind this at all. The burgers were well-crafted, with high-quality ingredients that made every bite worth savoring.

For sides, I went with the curly fries, mozzarella sticks, and falafel. The curly fries were crispy and flavorful, the mozzarella sticks were satisfyingly cheesy, and the falafel was fresh and packed with flavor—a great addition to the meal.

Although I did find it a bit pricey coming in at a total order value of around 50 euros, the quality of the food made it worth it. If you’re looking for gourmet burgers and indulgent sides in Leuven, Mono Burgers is an excellent choice—even for delivery. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again and did, as I was writing ...

I was really looking forward to trying the Truffle Burger at MONO, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet expectations.

Truffle Burger

The biggest letdown was the absence of real truffle flavor. Instead of a rich, earthy truffle sauce, it tasted more like a sweet Thousand Island-style dressing. It completely missed the deep, umami kick you’d expect from anything labeled “truffle.”

Also, the use of canned mushrooms was disappointing and didn’t match the premium concept. Switching to fresh sautéed mushrooms would seriously improve both the flavor and the experience.

Fries

The fries were seasoned decently and tasted okay, but the portion was noticeably small. For a combo, I expected more.
