New Holy Cow — Restaurant in Leuven

We've noticed this place for a month, on our walks through Leuven, but I resisted going on, based on appearance from the outside and price. It turns out that instincts were wrong in this case. This is very tasty, nicely presented Indian food in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. You are greeted with a generous portion of papadum and three sauces. We then had Veg kadai, tandoori lamb, and scampi tikka masala. They are served with a choice of basmati rice or naan and we had both. Everything was cooked well, with the vegetable retaining some crispness and the lamb was well-done and of very high quality. Portion size is very good, and we had a nice meal for four for 55 Euros. We placed a reservation through Takeaway.com. We received a call from the owner saying that the order would be delayed due to the horrible weather conditions. Once the order arrived the Naan was missing. We called them but the owner said it would take more than an hour for the Naan to get here, he did offer us to come and get it ourselves or to have it on another day. We went back the day after and received the missing part of the order and a free curry. The owner once again apologised and said things were crazy the day before. This was not the first time we ordered there and for sure will not be the last one either. Thanks for keeping up to your word as we had no proof of what we said over the phone :-)

Excellent vegetarian meal. My order (takeaway): onion pakora for starter (3 pieces), Aalu Gobi (potato curry with cauliflower) as a main dish and Chana bhaji (chickpeas) & Okra (lady fingers) as side dishes. Every dish comes as a curry (= sauce), so having it with rice was mandatory for me 🙂 (alternatives are roti and naan bread). It turned out the side dishes were almost as big as main dish, so I ordered too much .. 😅 It was delicious, okra was my favorite! To be honest, potato quality seemed a bit mixed though 🤔. I was a bit worried about the spiciness but it was excellent for me even though I can't have too spicy 😉 Still, I can order them: aloo (spiciest) okra chana. Nice bonus was the -20% discount...
