Cocotal Inn And Cabanas — Hotel in San Pedro Town

This was our first trip to Belize; our group is well traveled, and we knew exactly what we were looking for and Cocotal Inn and Cabanas delivered!

The accommodations were absolutely PERFECT! We were a group of 13 and how this property was designed allowed the group to be together while also allowing everyone to have their own space.

The main house and the cabanas were in pristine condition, I couldn't even find so much as a cobweb. There was no smell of mildew or anything else. The moment you opened the door the freshness hit your nose immediately. The cleaning lady was there every day like clockwork to offer housekeeping services and was also pleasant to hold conversation with.

Ben and Yara! Absolute ACES!!!! Not only did they assist in booking the resort they also assisted in getting us from the airport to the water taxi, from the water taxi to the resort, and even had the golf carts delivered to the resort for us to travel around in (these amenities were at additional charge). Our excursion day trip to Caye Caulker was even set up by them. The cook that came to the resort to cook a meal for our group, you guessed it, Ben and Yara assisted in getting that arranged as well.

This trip was for my wife's birthday, and she said this was the best birthday she's ever had, all thanks to Ben and Yara and Cocotal Inn and Cabanas.

I can not say enough about how wonderful my stay at The Cocotal was. The location was perfect for me, secluded enough but just a quick golf cart ride to town. The best part of the stay though was the staff, they were absolutely nothing short of phenomenal!! They arranged everything during my stay from transport to and from the airport, trip to the grocery store, massages in my unit, snorkeling trip and even went as far as to take me into town for a personal tour of San Pedro and local cuisine!! They conveniently offer bikes, kayaks and golf carts right on site eliminating any stress about transportation by land or sea. I found my unit to be perfect and every detail was thought of. I was also fortunate enough to get a peek at a couple of the other units and each one was unique from a studio, to a 1 or two bedroom each one had their own charm. You are right on the beach so the views are breathtaking!! Now that I have experienced the wonder of The Cocotal, I can't imagine staying anywhere but there on a return trip. We were very impressed with the staff, and loved the serenity on the grounds. Everything is very well maintained. We used the kayaks a lot and used their bikes to travel everywhere on the island; when one dropped its chain, they fixed it immediately. This is an area that is for perfect for active singles or couples- not really kids. The staff had great, helpful suggestions for living like the locals, like how to catch fish from the dock and where to get groceries. At the same time they also got us great deals for snorkeling excursions, with pickup from our dock. It worked well to do a guided snorkeling tour early in the week- then, when we used the Cocotal kayaks, we knew better what to look for, and where, in the reef. Doing that, we saw several eels, star fish, tons of conch, rays, jelly fish that you can hold, hermit crabs, etc etc. We loved the privacy of the cabanas, and the spontaneity (here, we just cut these coconuts from the tree, would you like to drink & eat one the way we do?) and gentle manner of the staff.
