My partner and I stayed in the penthouse room overlooking the pool for 7 nights. Overall, we had a great experience! Highlights include the outstanding restaurant, convenient location, pickup/drop off at the local San Pedro airport, and friendly staff.

We did encounter a few issues that other guests should note, mainly with their water supply. Our toilet wasn’t filling with water and would not flush for 3 of the 7 days we stayed there. There were also a couple of times when they were adjusting the water pump and we had no access to water at all for about an hour with no notice. The unpredictability of whether or not we would be able to take a shower or flush the toilet added a bit of stress to the stay. The communication was good from the hotel staff and they were able to resolve these issues by the fourth day of our visit.

Another thing to note is the housekeeping service was a bit spotty for us which might have been our fault. They have a sign to hang indicating need for service, but we didn’t have the housekeeping schedule explained to us upon arrival and instead just put up the sign and asked the other staff members to let them know when we would like service. Not a big deal, but something to note if you’re someone who likes fresh towels/sheets.

The only other hiccup we encountered was being double charged for a massage upon checkout that made us uncomfortably late to catching our flight while they tried to resolve the issue. I think their website they send to book services and excursions is an old system and they need to update it; we paid in full for all the services we booked through the website and did not receive any confirmation. We actually ended up needing to reach out and schedule the services with the hotel which we weren’t sure about upon booking. This miscommunication lead to the overcharging and other excursion guides being unsure of whether or not we had paid. Make sure to have your receipts ready and prepare to double check the final room charges.

The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was wonderful, and the amenities were good. The staff was truly exceptional during our stay and are the main reason we would return. Having the restaurant onsite and a lovely pool area were the highlights, we might just request a different room if we stay here again. Thank you for a...

I had been coordinating for a few months with Inayel T. He gave my friends and I all the details we needed and more.

My friend and I were late arriving (basically don’t book basic economy with American Airlines) the rooms were my name and on my card. My four other friends were a little worried about getting in, as the rooms were under my card. Inayel quickly assured me that my friends would not only be able to get checked in, he would also be able to pick them up at the airport.

We were picked at the San Pedro airport by the hotel staff on a golf cart. Inayel showed us around and where to eat and any questions he was able to answer.

Our stay was in two different suites and a studio. No one was surprised as the photos listed online looked like our hotel.

The restaurant at the hotel, the Aji, was delicious and local. I had the Belizean breakfast as well the burrito both were great. There is an additional charge for protein but most of the breakfast dishes are included with your stay. For dinner I had the curried shrimp and conch, it was delicious. They have a pretty good happy hour deal from 2-5 with cocktails as little as $3.

The pool has a swim up bar and is right next to the restaurant and bar. The pool has a waterfall which they will turn on with request if not already on. It is only 5ft deep. The pool over looks the ocean. Because of the rainy season I did not get to enjoy the paddle board and kayaks however they come with the hotel.

My friends booked a massage package and all really enjoyed themselves.

Because of rainy season our catamran tour was canceled. But Belize Parasailing (affiliated with the hotel) was able to take us to the main snorkel channels. We went to Hol Chan Marine and Shark Ray alley. After Hol Chan and Shark Ray our tour guide caught a lobster for us. He then took us to Palapa grill and we ate the lobsters he caught us! I have never had such fresh sea food!

Tip: if rainy season bring lots of bug spray and baby oil as there will be sand fleas during...

♦️💕Bella Vista review 🌴 ||Overall:|We have to say overall, this is an amazing resort. It’s located on the south end of the island down the road from the Truck Stop restaurants. They met us at the water taxi drop off and took us to the resort. ||Our penthouse room was spotless, romantic and comfortable with amenities, including bottled water, a mini fridge, enough ice for about 5 days and utensils/plates for eating, etc.||If you’re gonna do snorkeling or scuba diving tours, they will come and pick you up at the dock right there at the resort which was incredibly convenient. Please note that otherwise you would have to drive into town to join different tours.||Cuisine|One of the nights we had dinner and it was one of the best meals we had while on the island. I had the chicken curry and Mark had the chicken carbonara.||Lizards |We named one of the lizards George, who was the medium sized lizard. We saw some little baby lizards, which were so adorable and then there was the biggest lizard that just kinda hung out by the golf carts.||Dakota |We were greeted by their doggy Dakota, who was such a sweetheart!! ||Nightly music |Every night they had live music - from a different performer - that we could hear from our penthouse balcony. This added another level of romanticism to our stay. ||One night it was a guitarist and it made us feel like we were in Italy. Another night they had a band that played a little bit of everything including country, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, and oldies. They had a local amazing Garifuna band that played the drums.|Another night there was a flutist that was amazing and played popular songs.||Staff:|The staff was always so thoughtful, respectful, and full of information. We could not have had a better staff than who was on site during our entire stay.|Thank you so much and we will definitely spread the word to family, friends, and acquaintances to pick your...

My stay at Bella Vista in August was absolutely amazing. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, and they had a lot of great suggestions for things to do and see in the area, which was incredibly helpful. The property is beautiful and has a beautiful view of the ocean. Our room was comfortable and clean, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We were able to go fishing which I had never done before but our guides were patient and helpful. I actually reeled in a mahi-mahi! It was very exciting! Additionally, we went parasailing. I’m very afraid of heights but the crew was professional and made sure we felt safe. My favorites activity we did by far was snorkeling in Shark Ray Alley. Our guide was fantastic. He taught us so much about the marine life and made sure we felt safe and respectful around the nurse sharks and stingrays. We got to see a lot of incredible marine life. The hotels on-site dining at Aji Tapas Restaurant and Bar was also a highlight. We managed to try most of the menu during our stay, and I can honestly say I did not have a single bad meal. My favorites were the rich and flavorful seafood coconut curry and the sizzling Gambas Al Ajillo. We ended up eating there multiple nights because it was just that good. I was so impressed that after my trip, I recommended this place to so many friends and family. It was an incredible experience!

I stopped by San Pedro Island while visiting Central America with no reservations or any ideas about where to stay. While roaming the island in my trusty golf cart, we stumbled upon Bella Vista and was quickly taken back by the beauty and amenities the property offered. We were greeted by a very welcoming staff and was offered drinks by the pool while we worked on the reservation. I ended up grabbing the top floor suite which gave us an amazing view of the beachside property and the ocean. This made for an incredible morning coffee on the balcony. They have a wonderful path all throughout the property where you can see some cool parts of nature, including the massive iguanas! During the evening we were pleasantly surprised by live entertainment by a local flutist and vocalist. We had dinner while watching her the migrated to our balcony to finish the show. The property offers several free amenities that you can help yourself to. After breakfast, we grabbed some snorkel gear and a kayak free of charge and paddled our way out to the second largest Reef in the world. By ourselves. It was an amazing snorkel session that I'll never forget. And it was free!
