I can't say enough about this quaint little resort nestled in between two high end resorts. I stayed 31 glorious days at Caribbean Shores in a studio apt which was refreshingly modern and renovated. Full amazing kitchen with full size stove, plenty of counter space. Spacious shower and comfy futons. (Guests graciously leave behind things for the next guests like seasonings and mosquito spray and such) on site laundry. Surrounded by amazing restaurants. Just lovely.||||The staff was very sweet and accommodating. They make you feel like visiting family. And you can't beat the price. I plan to revisit every year!||||Just on the ground floor of the resort is an amazing authentic Italian restaurant run by Max who's dishes could easily rival the best Italian restaurants you've eaten at stateside.||||Jaquar Reef resort is next door with a swim up pool and a breathtaking beach, right behind is Belizean Dreams resort with yummy food and beds on the beach. Next door is a lively dive bar called "Play" where the owner Matt and Kat are so sweet and welcoming. Matt is a mixologist behind the bar. Lol whew, try the " Catarinias" Matt's take on the capirinha. Lol classic rock sing along and drunk dart tournaments haha.||||Meet all the lovely expats who will quickly adopt you and swoop u into their non stop round Robin partying at their different bar/restaurants. I highly recommend visiting Jalapeños for some of the best BBQ you've ever had, say hi to chef Lee for me. Mangos at the end of phase 4 is a lively beach bar with an amazing selection of burgers and fun music bingo. Ant behind the bar will keep you laughing. ||||Only 5 mins cab ride to a more touristy, busy part of hopkins for more bar hopping and restaurants. I recommend ||||Jalapeños ||Mangos||Ella's by the beach||Limetree ||Oddessy ||||The U.S. dollar is two to one in Belize ||And the locals are super friendly. Have an amazing experience in Belize and consider Caribbean Shores for budget...
Read moreWe were looking for a place that had 6 rooms available fairly last minute. As we have been here before as a couple, we were familiar with the place and had a pretty good experience other times and always loved the breakfasts. It was mostly for the breakfast that we booked this place actually. When our large group arrived, I mentioned breakfast and they said we had to request it ahead of time and it is a $15 US fee! It has always been included in the past, and it's called a bed and breakfast. Would have been nice to be told this when I booked so we could all prepare better.||The first evening we ran out of drinking water and requested more so we could have coffee in the morning. By the way, no coffee makers here except in the main public kitchen. The next morning we had to ask again for water. Ended up boiling some tap water. No water came until later that morning. They also didn't want to give any extra towels for the kids, because the dryers are broken and staff has to hang all the laundry (which is hanging in between the buildings). ||The rooms themselves are nice, no complaints there! We also loved the pool and the slide. ||BUT One other thing I need to mention is the sewage problem! Our kids were outside playing in the sand around the buildings, and there was some wet sand and they were enjoying playing with it. Not till later did we find out it was a sewage leak!! Thats it, I'm sorry but we won't be back again. Unless a manager or owner decides to care and put some much needed attention into this...
Read moreWe stayed at Caribbean Shores BnB for a week during our vacation in Hopkins, Belize. While the location is excellent and the area is truly wonderful, our experience with the accommodation itself was disappointing.||We booked online from Canada after saving for a year, and chose this BnB because it was more affordable than other options in the area. The photos online looked fantastic, promising a charming and comfortable stay. However, the reality was far from what we expected.||The property was in significant disrepair, with clear signs of neglect over the years. Basic cleaning was done, but the overall upkeep was severely lacking. The room we stayed in had a strong musty odor that made us feel nauseous whenever we were inside. Visible damage and neglect were evident throughout the property, which overshadowed the excitement of our long-awaited vacation.||While we absolutely loved Hopkins and all it has to offer, the state of the hotel left us disappointed. Caribbean Shores BnB has so much potential given its location and initial appeal, but it desperately needs maintenance and proper care to match what is advertised online.||If you're considering this BnB, I’d recommend looking elsewhere unless substantial improvements are made. Hopkins is a gem, and it deserves accommodations that enhance its charm rather than...
