Tandoori Bites — Restaurant in Stann Creek District

DO NOT TRY THIS PLACE! The only thing great about this place was the area the restaurant was located. We were a group of 3 looking to get some good food in Hopkins village after a great day. We got there at about 8:45pm and were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. We ordered a round of drinks and then placed our food orders, the drinks came out after about 10 mins. As we waited and chatted about our day another 20 mins passed and still no food, I at least expected the app to come out first. The person that took our order was just hanging at the counter on her phone with another person ( not sure if she was also a worker) and did not even check to see if we needed anything or satisfied with the service so far. Another 30 mins passed and we realized our food had not come out yet and so we asked the girl hey it’s been a while is our food ready and she said oh let me check. She went downstairs to the kitchen area and a minute later came up with our entrees which looked cold as they might have been sitting there for at least 30 mins or more. We touched the food and it was cold, we told the girl that the food was cold and her response was, “ oh really”. No apology or anything for the cold food which was sitting there for at least 40 mins. We then asked for to go boxes so we could at least use a microwave to heat the food at home. This by far was the worst service I have had in my ENTIRE life. I honesty wished we had just left the food because it was not great at all, wasted time and money on trash. ANYONE LOOKING TO TRY THIS PLACE DO NOT! New restaurant. We were lucky (happy) they opened 2 weeks before our trip to Hopkins. They have a very nice neat restaurant. Eating space upstairs as well as outside in front of the kitchen which is separate. A nice clean wash area/restrooms. They have enough wait staff on hand . The chef makes really good food by any indian restaurant standards. In hopkins, the location is perfect as it is walking distance from most of the popular resorts. (we were at almond beach) We went back twice and would have gone back once more if we had stayed longer. I would definitely recommend the place.

Not a negative per se- be prepared that the food will take at least 30 minutes up to 45 minutes to come out depending on the number of people in the restaurant. This is the same for most of the restaurants in the area which work on island time. Also, I believe I was told the chef is working on getting more kitchen help and support. This would not prevent me from going to the restaurant. The food is good. Just prepare for the time. Excellent...

Terrific evening from cocktails through dinner. We went to enjoy something different at this new place but were amazed with wonderful appetizers and an absolutely delicious meal. I had the tandoori lamb and it was outstanding. Moist, full of wonderful flavors, tender and a large serving. We also enjoyed a couple of perfect martinis, so that was another great surprise.

The place is very nice and comfortable and the service was also outstanding. Robin was cheerful and make a great cocktail and Verily was a very attentive waitress. People that are nice to meet and one of the reasons we will be going back regularly.
