We spent one night there but it was enough. The girl from the reception is so unfriendly with guests in the way she treats them (I was not the only guest saying it). I've been waiting at her desk for 5 minutes while she was on her phone joking with a friend. Then I asked her if it was possible to wash clothes. She said it will be cleaned and dried for the next morning 9am as I told her I have a bus at 10am. The next day I asked for it at 9am and some clothes were still wet. She said she will put them in dryer and it will be ready for 10am. When I reminded her I have a bus at that time she said she told me the previous day it would be ready for 10am... What a liar ! Moreover one cloth was missing. She told me I never gave it to her but as I always take pictures of what I give I could show her she was wrong, again. She was so pissed of when I proved it but never admited it was her fault and then never gave some excuses. Apparently it's quite famous if you don't find your stuffs back. If you manage to catch à smile from her I pay you a beer. Concerning the hostel, it's quite nice and well located. Basic rooms with sheets...
Read moreDo yourself a favour and avoid this place. We stayed at a different hostel for one night before moving to this one because of the cheap rates, and we really lived to regret it. Yes, the location is great and rooms are cheap. BUT consider this: there's no heating despite freezing temperatures at night, which means I ended up with a massive cold you're not allowed to take blankets from any spare beds, allegedly because they are fully booked. When we stayed there, they had at least 50% capacity staff is rude, dismissive and dishonest there's no kitchenware or pots in the kitchen, you have to borrow everything at a deposit, which is weird. Also you pay for your rooms in advance, which is not normal the mine tour they're offering is not run by an ex-miner as advertised and the whole organisation is underwhelming. Seriously, spend 3 Euros more per night and stay at a lovely hostel just around the corner...
Read moreIt's one of the cheaper places in Potosi but I would not recommend booking this hostel. ||It's freezing cold! Despite advertising themselves as having a heating, they only switch it on at night during winter. Potosi is a pretty cold place and it went down to 0C over Easter and without heating we might as well could have slept outside. They also refuse handing out more blankets. The main hangout area is in the courtyard which is just as cold and not comfortable to spend your time in.||||The staff isn't too friendly either and they mistrust their guests. One has to leave a deposit at reception to get cooking utensils or your passport to read one of the old travel guides.||||The blankets that you get are also rather dirty. The electrical wiring hangs loosely from the walls and there's only one socket per room.||||Location is good but there are many other hostels in Potosi with...
