We stayed at Jeriba recently for our Anniversary and it was a spectacular small hotel (Pousada). We stayed in the top level room (Luxo Jeriba) and really enjoyed our 5 day stay. The room we had was spacious with large bedroom, bathroom and wrap around deck. On the deck we could see the ocean (and sunset) as well as enjoy the two person jacuzzi tub. My favorite spot was the hammock. Overall a great room. The hotel staff was outstanding helping with everything from airport transfers, tours, beach suggestions, to dinning tips. It was a joy to interact with everyone at the hotel. In addition, the staff went out of their way to make the stay special. I was our anniversary and they made it a point of acknowledging it (see photos)||||As is normal for a Brazilian hotel, breakfast was included. Each morning we would be greeted by the ladies serving breakfast and given a large fresh fruit platter. Along with that you can order from a very long list of other options (order as much as you want) including eggs, crepes, tapioca, and freshly made cakes or breads. We never left hungry! We especially enjoyed talking with Cida aka "Marvellous" most mornings. She was a delight and always made us laugh. The same restaurant serves Lunch and Dinner although not included. The food we ate never disappointed with high quality fresh seafood at the top of our list.||||Overall this is a great place to stay in Jericoacoara and we will definitely be going back.||||Some additional tips to "Gringos" traveling to Jericoacoara: This is a wonderful small village and is definitely off the beaten path. The village sits inside a national park and is protected which does limit some services. When you arrive in at the airport in Cruz (JJD) which is the closest to the village, you should pay your park entrance fee before leaving the airport (R$30 per person). This will speed your arrival at the village. Also, be prepared for a bit of a rough ride to get there. All the "taxis" are 4x4s and the road is very rugged. It takes about 30 minutes to arrive at the village. If you are looking for luxury from door to door, you probably should go elsewhere. If you have a sense of adventure, this is your place! We loved the beaches, scenery and low key vibe of the town.||||Also, it really helps to speak Portuguese here. Although many of the hotel staff and people in town speak some english, it's much better if you can speak a bit of Portuguese too. In most restaurants the menus have english along side of the Portuguese, but it might be challenging communicating beyond pointing. I would say a good phrase book (or app to translate) can get...
Read moreJeriba's location is by far the best in Jericoacoara. The Pousada sits right on the beach and a few meters above sea level. You will not find a better place to see the sun setting across the ocean. Thousands of visitors will walk up the dune to see the sunset. Well if you are at Jeriba you can save the walk. Guaranteed. The restaurant is very good, it's open the whole day and breakfast will be served there every morning. It's open air and next to beach...what else? By the way...the food is excellent. The ladies at the kitchen are responsible for everything you eat there. From the cakes you have for breakfast up to the traditional dishes you can order for dinner. The rooms are beautiful. Ours was on the first floor with a nice balcony overseen the ocean. The décor was simple yet cozy. Brick walls and oak wood. I loved it. The bathroom was modern, big and included a hydro. Breakfast was simply perfect. Fruit, cakes, bread, cheese, squeezed juice, coffee, tea, milk, omelet and tapioca (sweet or salty). It all came wrapped to avoid contact (due to Covid 19). Also if you dared to eat all of it...you would be offered more food. Outstanding. Every day you were kindly asked to leave your room for at least 2 hours. During that time they used an ozone generating machine to clean your room and leave it virus free. Upon arrival your luggage was sanitized before carrying it to your room. Needless to say, the staff was super extra cool. They all did...
Read moreThis hotel was really nice. Great amenities, friendly staff, perfect location, and beautiful views. The restaurant was good but the breakfast got repetitive. My main complaint with this place is that it’s full of families with screaming children and it’s very annoying because the rooms are right next to the pool where they play at. Not really the hotel’s fault but still annoying. It’d be nice if the rooms were soundproofed better to help with this. The loud kids negated some of the peaceful vibe of this hotel. If you’re a couple, maybe consider an adult only hotel, because this one was mainly families it seemed. Overall, really good experience and I would...
