When I heard about Clubventos and the story of Fabio Nobre, I thought I had to see this place—it must be amazing. So, I traveled to Jericoacoara for the New Year's celebration. Jeri is indeed an amazing place, and Clubventos has great potential to be one of the best spots in the world. But it is not.
The place looks great, the staff appears professional and attractive, and the food seems pretty nice too. However, the professionalism of the staff ends with their uniforms. Worse still, they lack the Brazilian “gentileza”—a warmth and kindness that is found all over Jericoacoara but is noticeably absent at Clubventos. They do nothing to make you feel welcome. Some members of the staff even come across as slightly arrogant, while others seem lost and poorly trained.
This impression is based on two visits we made to Clubventos—both times, the experience with the staff was the same.
The menu looks great, but what a disappointment it is when you realize that it’s different from what is presented on their official WhatsApp profile. You order the long-awaited langosta, only to be told that it’s no longer on the menu. The food looks good but is surprisingly bland. The shrimp tastes like something you’d find at a decent restaurant far from the coast—but when you’re at the coast, you expect more, right?
In fact, you can easily find amazing shrimp in this area, even from beach vendors in Fortaleza, where they’re tender, big, and flavorful. Of the two fish dishes we tried, one was delicious, but the other was overcooked and dry (a nice sauce couldn’t save it). For better seafood, head to Jeri Cantina—it may not look fancy, but it delivers exactly what you’d expect from coastal cuisine.
Clubventos could definitely be a highlight on the Brazilian map. Today, however, it lacks soul and that special “something” that comes with the right people and...
Read moreWe have been to many different surf stations all around the world and this one was the worst. Very complicated and long process for rental, the woman at the service are extremely arrogant, the chef does not welcome you at all, everyone is stressed… you could hear them yelling at each other. They have only one english speaking surfteacher who is indeed oberworked. The other stuff hangs out and chills, not helpful or motivated. If they see you struggling, you have to ask them at least three times before they stand up and help you. There are lots of other stations in Jeri that are less crowded, more authentic and the stuff is way more friendly than in club ventos! Such a pity, it is a good spot but we cannot recommend to book rentals or storage there! We were a big group and everyone had different problems with them… So please club ventos, take this feedback seriously and optimize the surf station!

Read morePositives: good quality windsurfing gear rental, and good choice. Negatives: Food poisonning. Had the buffet lunch the first day (as I remembered the buffet was excellent 20 years ago at Clube dos Ventos). One hour later I throw up everything ! Wasted my first day of vacation. Not surprising as very few customers at the buffet, dishes left open too long. Very bad experience. Very inconsistent customer service. Some waiters serving food and drinks very friendly and caring. Some at reception slow and unfriendly. Often the reception is unattended. They also lost the key to my locker. Some persons in the garage very friendly and giving good advice on gear. Some not-so-friendly and only caring about gear not damaged, not...
