First things first, The place is difficult to get to as Google maps directs you to a property a couple of hundred metres along the road but not completely out of the way so please be aware of this issue. Nice place away from the hustle and bustle of Rio yet still close to get around. Places were very expensive as it was new years so this was one of the affordable places.||||Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Despite the language barrier they had a heart of gold and really tried to make you feel at home. The room was really nice a little gritty but nice. The bed was firm but not soft which was great for me. The pillows however were a bit too soft and made my neck a bit sore.||||Bathroom was quaint and close but had that rustic or home-made feel. Room was very spacious and nice to relax. TV wasn't very good but no great deal. Internet was poor as it worked brilliantly outside of the room but would have been nice to have WiFi working inside the room.||||Mosquitoes are a HUGE problem staying here. I would have loved to have a mosquito net provided or more anti insect product. I did buy some plug in repellent for wall sockets but was an incredibly small improvement but was bitten a lot!||||Besides the mosquitoes I had a...
Read moreWe loved our stay in Pousada Mae Naturza. It's a cute guesthouse with a lovely outdoor seating area to relax in during the day or at night. The whole hostel is really clean and our room was cleaned everyday. The breakfast was one of the best we have gotten in our nine months of travelling - coffee, juice, fresh fruits, cereals, eggs, breads, ham, cheese and cakes! So delicious!||The hostel is located about a ten minute walk from downtown and there is a short, steep hill in one part. We didn't mind the walk to town however. Staff were nice but not overly friendly. When we checked in we weren't told anything about breakfast, wifi or where the kitchen and facilities were. We were rarely greeted coming in and out of the hostel and...
Read moreExcellent! Comfy beds, they clean very well everyday, best breakfast (eggs, fruits, breads, cakes, juices are not watered down), a generator (electricity cuts off on the island. It's hot on the island you want your fans and A/C to work!), excellent A/C, the whole staff are super nice and help you out even if they only speak Portuguese, they have laundry service at a cost, Wi-Fi of course. What else can I say? I didn't want to leave! I was just so comfy. Oh, price is economical. Read the trip adviser reviews. But the trip adviser had the map location in the wrong spot at the time of this writing. That's why I added this place on Google...
