Lovely staff at reception, patient, spoke English. I had left my phone charging cable at home & they lent me one. They gave me great directions to catch subway.|Room clean (and I have high standards)|The bed had a great choice of pillows, so you could choose softer or firmer to eg sit up in bed to watch tv.|Loved the complimentary snacks & water, the water (glass bottles) do not get replaced though, there is a charge if you ask for more; however the hotel have these drinking water stands, so if you want to get a glass of water to drink, it is easy to do so.||Breakfast included with my room booking; wonderful choice and staff wanting to please. I enjoyed lovely slices of fresh fruit; papaya, melon, mango to name. Had choices of yogurt & found unsweetened type I like. Croissant was ok, but this is not France. Hot eggs and all sorts of other thing’s available too. Coffee was ok, perhaps not hot enough for my liking or perhaps I like to add too much milk!||There is no kettle / jug in room to boil tea; I would have liked that.||Bonus as a guest: attend Happy Hour: prosciutto or soft drinks and an array of savoury goody things, fruit, walnuts, salad, cheese etc. it’s not top cuisine but you can find things there you like, I enjoyed the cooked mini potatoes.||Pool: it is padlocked after 5pm, a bit annoying if you want to quietly do a few laps.||Sauna - like a steam sauna; I enjoyed this, is not always on but the hotel accommodated me & put it on.||Overall I loved my stay and would definitely...
Read moreThe hotel is excellent - clean, spacious, with an excellent breakfast, and great complimentary happy hour. It is also located two blocks from the beach and one to two blocks from many restaurants, stores, and bars (Fratelli - a very good Italian restaurant - is located half block away). There is no ocean views and the pool and gym are pretty basic. One feature I like a lot about the hotel is the availability of connected suites for families (one larger room with a king size bed and a second with two twins). The two connected rooms have a private foyer that can be locked. The hotel worked so well for us that we have already stayed...
Read moreBorn and raised in Rio but living in the US for 30 years and there is no other place I stay when i go visit. The area is the best in Rio by far on residential street and 2 blocks from the beach. One of the safest neighborhoods in Rio. It is priced right , if you want luxury go pay 500 usd a night at Fasano hotel or Copacabana palace (terrible areas). The staff at this hotel could not be nicer and helpful, the breakfast was simple but very good. Yes, maybe the rooms need a little upgrade but I don't go to Rio to stay in my room. Top restaurants, supermarket and shops walking distance....
