I had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Hotel Janeiro! Everything was just perfect. The service was incredibly professional, warm, and attentive. A special thank you to Camila, who was so patient and dedicated, and to Gabriel, always ready to help with a big smile — the two of them made every visit to the front desk a real pleasure!
The hotel is perfectly located, right across from the beach. You can go for a swim anytime and be back in your room within minutes, without even having to leave anything on the sand. The breakfast on the first floor is a real highlight — delicious, fresh, and served with a breathtaking view you’ll never get tired of.
Another amazing perk: guests get access to Body Tech gym, and three mornings a week, there’s a free beach workout class just across the street. It’s one hour of fitness with an instructor, either solo or in small groups, and the vibe is just incredible. But be warned: you’ll need to wake up early in Rio — the sun sets sooner than you’d think!
Don’t miss out on using the hotel’s bikes either — cycling along the beachfront is a must. Though I have to admit, it’s hard not to get distracted by all the beautiful people working out on the beach 😄
Last but not least, a big thank you to Edgar Tomazini, in charge of sales, who gave me a thorough and professional explanation of the hotel. His insights made a big difference in my experience — it simply wouldn’t have been the same without him.
In short: amazing location, impeccable service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. An unforgettable stay in Rio — highly...
Read moreReally nice and modern boutique hotel!! Safe and quiet location in Leblon, with oceanfront views (we were in the Ocean Suite). The room was spacious, bright, and modern with trendy minimalist style.
Breakfast has a great view of the beach. Staff speak English (for the most part), but when we were there we noticed a lot more Brazilian guests than foreigners, so we got the feeling that this hotel is like a best-kept secret for wealthy locals. Didn’t matter to us, as everyone was always very pleasant and friendly.
The pool is very small though and has no seating area to lay out and sunbathe, so you’ll have to go to the beach for that. Definitely check out the pool and rooftop area anyway for the views!
We love the Leblon neighborhood. It’s definitely quieter than Ipanema/Copa, but we chose the location primarily for safety since we were first-time tourists. Get Bibi açaí bowls nearby and book a reservation at Oro restaurant! Later on we moved to the Emiliano in Copacabana, but I think I preferred the intimate setting of the Janeiro.
Would definitely...
Read moreI stayed at Janeiro visiting from the US but used to live in Brazil and speak Portuguese fluently. The hotel was nice and the staff were all friendly but unfortunately I had a bad experience with their guest services. They offered to help me book various activities I wanted to do and sent me quotes from vendors. I trusted them and didn’t do a market check but after the first few activities started to ask around what typical prices were and found out the quotes from the hotel were significantly inflated. I paid 4x the market price for a rental, 2.5x the price for a helicopter ride and they quoted me 6x the price for a taxi to the airport. I don’t believe they were being malicious but they obviously know the market rates and was very disappointing they introduced me to vendors the knew were taking advantage of me - especially since the hotel is one of the nicest options in the area and sells itself on...
