Overall pleasant stay. Friendly staff on reception and good location, close to some nice bars and close to a shopping district. Very clean overall with the bedding changed daily, good air conditioning in rooms. The breakfast was okay, however the plates and bowls were tiny. There was also only one small toaster and toastie maker which left you waiting-but to be fair, given the price of the hostel the breakfast was pretty much free- so good for those on a budget.
I was disappointed that there were no cooking or laundry facilities due to “covid”. People were still allowed to use a microwave and staff were in and out of the kitchen in the morning, which didn’t make sense. I do feel, no matter what response I receive, that these facilities could be in place regardless of covid - places we have stayed in brazil previously offered this service during covid.
If you’re not a smoker it could be a little frustrating at times as the windows in the communal areas are covered by canopies and when people smoke the smoke makes it way into the building.
The vibe in this hostel is lacking for foreign travellers/backpackers. We found that mostly the hostel was used by people on business/courses. Although - to be fair - it does not sell itself as a party hostel.

Again - excellent price for those...
Read moreI've stayed 3 nights in Brazilodge hostel and it was just great. The breakfast was delicious with papaya, honeydew melon, jam, cheese, scrambled eggs, sausages, bread, banana, fresh orange juice and coffee. Best breakfast I had during my stay in Brazil. Our room had a nice balcony, a shower, air conditioning, television and a bathroom. The rooms are extremely clean. Staff is super nice. You can find everything you need in the neighborhood and you're about 10 minutes walking distance to the metro station and around 25 minutes to Ibirapuera park. The neighborhood is quiet so if you want to be close to the nightlife, this is not the best spot, but there's everything you need close. |You can use the kitchen at the hostel, there are 2 computers, a pool table and a nice patio inside. Unfortunately, one of the guests smoked on the patio, so it took out a little bit out of the charm.|The hotel can arrange you a transfer to the airport which I definitely recommend!|To wrap up, if you want to stay in Vila Mariana, I definitely...
Read moreAs a customer who stayed there for almost 15 days, i had never seen such a rude receptionist like the brunette girl ( not stephanie and chelsea). Actually, there are alot of stuff happened to my group but i will point out to the issues i witnessed. When we come to visit some of our friends who stayed there after us , she told us that we cant enter for a long time as we already left the hostel. Moreover, When we compained about other customers who left their food in the kitchen and didnt wash it, she did nothing. However, when someone complained about us, she told us that we have to wash or a 100 R will be charged on us.|The hostel was not that bad , however there are some issues they have to handle. For example, the shower was not working well and no hot water and they didnt even bother therseleves to fix it. Anyways, the hostel was not bad but they definately have to...
