I travel for business. I am currently on a 20 day trip in Sao Paulo. When you travel alone, where you stay matters a LOT. This is my 3rd trip to Sao Paulo and I won't stay anywhere but the Pullman from now on. The other hotels/condos/apts I stayed at were sub par with marginal AC and hard beds and cost almost what this does. This place is great: friendly staff, room svc is top notch but not too expensive. The cheapest entre on the Menu; the club sandwich is amazing with a full chicken breast and what looks like an omelet in it with the bacon. $25 BR about $12.50 US. The Pizza has cream cheeses on it ; sounds weird but wait till you try it. Wow. They make sure I know where I am going on foot, give me an umbrella. The IT restaurant/bar is way cool. It has great service but it not too upscale to chase me off from sitting with my laptop and working with a cup of coffee, Top notch people and service. The room has an amazing bed and shower with the water coming from over-head. Beware of other Sao Paulo hotels' internet; and the internet will be your connection home and to work so it is critical. Also amazing legit huge breakfast buffet that was included in my rate. The Pullman has a fast free internet service they called 4Mbps, but It's a lot faster than that. It is also 10x better than the other two apt/condo chains that I stayed at the last 2 trips. The staff all speak good enough English to get by. Iberapuera park is 5 mins away, which is like Central Park in NYC but bigger and more lakes and amazing plants/trees and a museum. You are striking distance to a rain forest and downtown. This hotel is in Villa Mariana. Maybe the best hotel experience I have ever had in 20 years of...
Read moreDuring August we stayed. This hotel appears very nice in the lobby restaurant area. It looks very hip and trendy with DJ in the bar area in the evenings. Dinner in the restaurant was nice. In particular the ceviche! The best I had in Brazil! Rooms were decent. Some floors were still being rennovated. Lots of Airline pilots and staff stay here. English is spoken by some staff members. There are queues at all times at the reception. Its a hotel which when using the lift you must tap your room key which only allows you to your floor, this is a nusiance! I just wanted to get in my room and sleep but the newly trained staff took forever to check me in. The AC was on far too high. It was freezing. It was warmer outside! Breakfast was very busy everyday. Its a shame with so many foreign tourists that there wasnt any dairyfree/gluten free options. Plus it was the same everyday. The comfy looking sofachairs at the dining table were so overused that you sunk into the seat! I was so low at my table!! Pullman hotel..its time to replace these old chairs! We stayed for 3 nights, it was a convenient location to explore the city. We left for the airport ro head back to UK and there was no friendly farewell from the staff which made me feel quite deflated. We requested a large people carrier for our family of 4 and luggage to the airport which this hotel found challenging. Instead they ordered us 2 cars. This worked out very expensive. I mean how difficult is it for a top branded hotel to arrange a larger...
Read moreThere are no irons in the rooms. The one iron in the basement (Level E2) for the guest is on a mini ironing board and on a timer placed in the wall, causing it to shut off after 1 minute and 24 seconds. Meanwhile, the information sheet on the wall (see pix) falsely says the timer shuts off after 3 minutes. The floor was wet from the leaking iron after auto-shutoff, so housekeeping was needed. The information sheet says to dial 9 for assistance, but the phone has been removed from the room. I had to wait 20 minutes for the floor to be mopped, or else my shirt would have rested in the water on the floor while hanging from the ironing board. Also, the shower in my room (680) was lined with mold/mildew. New room (1256) was missing a body towel and a floor towel. The details that are overlooked can be fixed with staff training. ||On a positive note, the hotel has a nice location near Ibirapuera Park and it is only a 10 minute (approximately) cab ride to restaurants and shopping. The restaurant food is nice along with the Yucafe coffee bar. The staff provides professional service with a smile, notably; Debora (restaurant host), Ingrid & Danton (bartenders), and Sarah & Liss...
