Paulista Center Hotel — Hotel in Região Imediata de São Paulo

I don't don't write reviews often, so you know this is bad. My purse was stolen out of my bag which was in my locked hotel room whilst I was out. No help from reception what so ever. The manager took an age to come speak to me and didn't offer a solution or an apology. I had to go to the police station my self because he wouldn't call anyone to come out. When I went to give the reception a copy of the police report they tried to refuse to take it before I insisted they should have it. The lady in charge of the cleaning had the nerve to say it was probably one of my best friends who I was sharing the room with. In disbelief my friends agreed to have their things searched despite the fact they had already gone through everything when we first discovered the purse was missing. The two women unceremoniously rifled through our things with little regard or care. Of course they found nothing but maintained that the purse hadn't been stolen by the cleaning lady who was the only other person to have entered our room that day. The hotel refused to take responsibility for the lost purse or its contents (bank cards and cash). The police said the hotel was obligated to pay back the lost cash but they refused. In other respects the hotel doesn't not live up to expectation either.. Where to begin? |The bathroom was just grim and included a leaking pipe. The lack of air conditioning in the room would have been justified if there had been a decent fan, but it was old and ridiculously loud. Possibly the most outrageous thing was leaving our dirty towels on the bathroom floor to be collected and coming back to find they had simply been hung back up. Ew! |Don't even get me started on the whole wifi situation! When there actually is one, the connection is weak and must be accessed through a personal log in which runs out every couple of hours. Pathetic really. |Let's talk about breakfast.. It's really great - if you are a fan of stale bread and cereal. Also if you are a vegetarian but love to have bits of sausage mixed up with your eggs, this is the place for you!! I guess the rest is livable. |I basically paid to have my purse stolen.. But anyway, rant over. Just don't come here. Please. The service is terrible and you can better spend your money elsewhere. |Não gastem...

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! I was sharing a triple room with two friends. One day, we left the hotel at around 8:30am and returned at 5pm. One of my friends searched everywhere for her purse that she left in the hotel room that day but couldn't find it anywhere. After we had searched everywhere in the room, we complained to reception that the purse had been stolen from the room that day. My friend also reported this to the police, who told us that the hotel was obligated to reimburse the money that was stolen. The hotel staff was very disrespectful and started blaming myself and my other friend - insinuating that we stole the purse! They then demanded to search our whole room, went through all our bags and they even emptied out all my dirty laundry onto the floor! Of course they did not find the purse - they refused to look at the CCTV cameras with us and the manager we spoke to called Marcos was extremely rude and unprofessional, - as were Renata and another woman who came to search our room. They refused to pay any money and they didn't apologise for anything that had happened. ||As for the hotel itself, the room is very old with no air conditioning but a very loud and ineffective fan. The safe in the room is broken with a folded up bit of paper inside to keep it closed. The bathroom is small and dingy and the sink leaks whenever you turn it on. We left our dirty towels on the floor, assuming the maid would replace them with new ones. However she simply hung them back up on the rail! We had to ring reception and request fresh towels. The shower pressure is awful and you can never find a suitable temperature - either too cold or too hot. The bathroom door has no lock. Outside my room there were building works going on that would often wake me up. At breakfast - they provide stale cereal and bread.||DO NOT CHOOSE TO STAY HERE! ||NÃO FAÇAM RESERVAS...

Absolutely appalling hotel (if you can even call it a "hotel"). I could have gotten over the dated decor, furniture, mould, uncomfortable bed and general lack of facilities, if it weren't for the sheer disrespectfulness of all the staff there. Not only were they extremely unhelpful and impolite and incapable of positive interaction, they actively treated me and my friends with utter contempt and disingenuousness. The high point (or rather low point) of this, was when one of my friends had her purse stolen by one of the cleaning people. Not only were staff bizarrely uncooperative and rude about it, they had the sheer audacity to try and blame the theft on me and our other friend. Talk about customer service.. The purse mysteriously re-appeared a few days later, planted in my bag (surprise surprise, with all the money missing). If you're looking for dreadful service, dated and probably asbestos-ridden decor, and loathsome uncooperative staff who have probably never heard the words "customer service"then this is the place to go. Save your time and money and book a hostel or AirBNB...
