The hotel looks pretty and high tech on the surface, but many things were lacking. When we checked in, we were given a room that had not yet been cleaned and serviced. They were able to give us another room right away, but it was just ok. Their standard of “clean” is not high; the bathroom still had hair left in the shower stall. In terms of room amenities, there is A/C, a TV, internet, and a kitchenette. Dish soap was not provided and we had to ask the front desk for it. The bed had two flat pillows, insufficient to be comfortable, so we ended up asking for two more. They also only provided one tiny bar of soap, which we used for hand washing. We ended up buying our own bar of soap for showering. There was no shampoo nor conditioner provided, so remember to bring your own.
In terms of hotel amenities, there is laundry, for which you will have to download an app to use. There is a mini market in the lobby where you can buy simple groceries like snacks, drinks, and other items. But I’d recommend you just buy what you need from a convenience store or pharmacy just a short walk away. There is ample coworking space and a comfortable looking lobby. Everything is pink and cute on the surface, but if you look closer, things are more worn out, dirty, and old. Front desk staff were hit or miss. Some were very nice, others were indifferent. Best to travel with a Portuguese speaker, as the staff spoke limited English. The elevators were strange too; when you called it to go down, it would go up several floors first, even though there wasn’t a call from the upper floors. They also have a “rooftop” advertised in the elevators, but when we checked it out, it lead us through a dark stairwell that led to nowhere.
Otherwise, the location is excellent, just off Paulista Ave and right next to a metro station. Plenty of food options, grocery stores, and pharmacies nearby. I recommend Bella Paulista, a few blocks away, if you’re looking for a padaria/cafe any time of day.
Overall Housi Paulista, is ok if you’re willing to overlook the faults mentioned above. We felt safe in the area, and the building felt secure. But, you can probably find...
Read moreWe’ve got the most expensive room and it looks fine to us. Great size studio with newish and clean cooking stuff, including a good size fridge, stove and microwave.
The aircon was freezing when we arrived but we managed to control it ourselves.
I wish they had a duvet in the room. In saying that, the bed linen looks nice and clean.
The bathroom is spacious with soap, shampoo and conditioner. The shower was nice too!
We are on the 13th floor. A bit noisy but bearable!
Positives:
Affordable comparing to other accommodations in the area. The location is great! A few minutes walk to Av Paulista and the metro station. 24h reception and wifi is working well so far!
Bad: their registration form and check in app. Painful with the security code not coming through so we were unable to checkin ourselves meaning we had to wait at reception for the tedious process!
If you’re a foreigner, I reckon you may struggle a bit with the receptionists if you don’t speak a bit of Portuguese or Spanish.
Overall, I’d stay and recommend this...
Gostei de me hospedar lá e pretendo voltar...
