This pousada deserves more than 5 ⭐s!
Hands down the best stay I’ve had in two years of travel! It felt like I found a home and a family, too. It's no wonder repeat guests come back every year to visit.
Location- Tucked away on a cozy residential street, with many nearby bars, restaurants, cafés, grocery stores, and gyms. A short, 4-minute walk will get you to Paulista Avenue and the metro.
Breakfast - A filling buffet of fruit, cereal, breads, juice, coffee, cake, hot chocolate, cookies, yogurt, ham, cheese, with the option to order eggs.
Family - The pousada is family owned and operated. The family do not live on-site but are nearby and always ready to help with anything you need. There are staff on-site to serve your needs 24/7. It's clear that the employees and family have mutual love and respect for each other. That care carries over to guest treatment.
Property - The property has a garden, driveway, dining room, two living rooms, kitchen, and workspace. The rooms and bathroom are large and clean compared to anything I’ve experienced in Brazil. The wifi is fast and I took my Portuguese lessons online (video calls) without any issue.
Atmosphere - Calm. Relaxed. Peaceful. Cheery.
Cleanliness - Impeccably clean.
Sleep - A+. My partner and I rented a private room with both a large and small bed. Both were comfortable and despite a nearby hospital, we found the street quiet enough.
Safety - This neighbourhood is mixed in terms of wealth and lifestyle. But I never once worried about my safety. The front gate is accessible by door code and someone is at the...
Read moreUpon entry into Pousada dos Franceses, I was greeted with an size-able, cozy garden space that met a large sliding door into the lobby of the Pousada. It was there where I met Dior at the front desk - an accommodating host and friend. This was the case for all of the Pousada staff - Gabriela, Patricia, Letti. It was almost if they were traveling with us and knew just exactly how to make us feel relaxed and worry-free. The staff hosted small get-togethers on the weekends for friends and fellow travelers and were always present when needed: 24 hours, 7 days a week. ||||I had many great memories here - late nights with the staff and other travelers. I left on the check-out day feeling as if I left my second-home.||||Specs:||The rooms were great, we had a nice view of the street and patio. ||Great Location (Proximity to Paulista Ave. and Metro - in addition to the food, diners, and bakeries all within a short walking distance).||There's a back patio (attached to the laundry room) that has a beautiful view of one of Sao Paulo's many skylines.||Complimentary...
Read moreThis hostel has everything you may need: location, cleanness, strong WI-FI in communal areas, laundry service, nice breakfast etc. Very relaxed lounge and outdoor area which is perfect to chill after long day. Most importantly, people at the front desk are simply great. We had to change our reservation very last minute from 4 to 3 bed, and that was done with no issues. Gabriela fought like a lion to get our lost luggage from the airport asap. Vomir ordered us a pizza in the middle of the night when our Portuguese language skills failed us miserably etc.etc. No request was too small or too big and staff was always happy to help which makes this hostel great. Will return if I ever have a chance to visit Sao...
