My wife & I were happy to be back at this wonderful property for a quick overnight stay at the end of our annual Bulgaria trip. We first visited five years ago on my wife’s recommendation and were amazed by the mix of modern & classical atmospheres that this chic hotel delivers “without trying too hard.” The Bang & Olufsen TVs are one of my favorite touches as this is a truly high-end luxury product that immediately elevates a space without being obtrusive. The biggest thing that I want to highlight this time around, however, is the amazing service that we received. The bellman was extremely helpful with our luggage upon arrival, and the amazing front desk staff, upon hearing that our trip had an unfortunate delay due to one of our kids running a fever on the morning of our expected departure, swooped in & made us a comfortable as possible by providing us with the location of a nearby doctor, allowing me to spend an hour & a half on the front desk phone trying to rearrange our flights, and allowing us to extend our stay beyond the standard check out as our plans suddenly changed. I want to highlight Velina, Ivan, and Kalin for their thoughtful contributions to our stay. The service was really above & beyond this time around, and although the aesthetics of this property are enough to provide five stars on their own, the service really came through on this stay and I can’t overstate that enough.
The adjacent cafe is also amazing with probably one of the best coffees that I have had on our trip! Definitely worth stopping in for even if you’re not staying at the hotel. This hotel is right in the middle of where you want to be in Varna & is close to a lot of great restaurants & a very nice strip in the popular part of the city.
Definitely consider Graffiti Gallery when looking for a place to stay in this area! I have sent friends here in the past & they have been blown away as well. I really have nothing but positive things to say about our...
Read morelook - the rooms are fine, the location is fine, the breakfast is very nice, all is well, it's a basic hotel. but - this is NOT a 5 star hotel AT ALL. the "spa" with the "gym" and the "pool" is a joke - the gym is a treadmill, elliptical machine and 4 (!) dumbbells, the pool is suited for 2 toddlers with their parents and the sauna - well the sauna is great, loved the sauna. there's no one at the "spa" (it is just a corridor with wc and a locker room) so you'll have to go back to reception to get towels which they won't always have, it'll take you a while because the elevator (single elevator) is as slow as can be and you'll have to take the stairs most of the time. btw - i found out you can get a towel from reception (because no one seems to tell you that) after i've asked one of the cleaning ladies if i can get a towel from her for my toddler in the pool, and she practically snatched the towel from my hand and cursed in Bulgarian and yelled "reception". though the worst part about my stay here is this - we came to the reception and asked to cancel our last night there and to find out if we'll get a full refund for it, they did not know and asked us to email their manager because they can't reach them (it was 8:30 am) and they do not know. i've emailed 3 times and still got no answer. oh - and for some reason a night here cost almost as in the actual 5 star hotels that located 10 minute...
Read moreOur family of four stayed in a one bedroom room, which is normally fine. But the issue is, and the biggest issue I had with our stay. When you turn on the bathroom light, it’s like tuning on a lighthouse beacon in the room, as the glass door between the bathroom and bedroom does nothing so the light seriously blinded everyone, especially at night time when people were trying to sleep. This meant every time someone went to the toilet, we felt like fog lights turned up to burn, so the light was set at level ‘retina burn.’ ||Otherwise the room is big with no partitions so when the kids go to sleep, not much else as parents you can do. With very little or no storage. Add the cost of the hotel and it’s really not worth it.||Location is fine, not great or bad just fine. Breakfast was awesome with salmon, waffles, pancakes, and a nice selection of local and more western foods, as well as freshly squeezed orange juice and barista coffee. Nice toiletries and the gym was well kept though small. Limited parking, where the car itself goes in a mini lift.|Didn’t really interact with the staff, other than breakfast, but there was always staff in reception. ||Because of the cost, there is no way I would stay here again, given the cost and the room configuration and...
