Our two visits to this restaurant provided a starkly different experience.
The first visit a few years ago was exceptional. The service was impeccable, brilliant wine and every dish was prepared perfectly. It was a truly memorable meal.
Our second visit, however, was nothing but disappointing. My family's meals were served long before mine. When my fish finally arrived, it was overcooked, almost black on the bottom and the accompanying vegetables were incorrect. I attempted to signal a staff member but there was NO ONE around. Upon finding the entire crew (I guess it was at least 15 people) being briefed in the middle of the restaurant, and during operating hours?!, I was waved off (yes I would wave off a fly off my honey) by what seem to be the manager. After another ten-minute wait, a server finally came to our table. By this time, my family had finished their meals. I explained the issue with my vegetables and of course the fish, but the replacement portion was half the size and appeared to be the old vegetables, reheated. The overall mood at our table shifted from anticipation to frustration. We paid and left without finishing the meal.
Additionally, during a winter visit, we noted a noticeable draft at various tables, particularly those by windows and near the three entrance/exit doors, making for an uncomfortable dining experience.
While the first experience was perfect, our second visit demonstrated significant inconsistencies in both kitchen and service standards, which led to a very frustrating dining experience. What drag me most is yet the idea of a staff briefing in the middle of a dining area during opening hours, while customers are present, seems both odd and impractical. It gives the impression that the briefing is more important than the customers who are dining at that very moment inch very possibly need their service.
Therefore, we are not aiming to go back at any time in the future and can not recommend...
Read moreMy boyfriend threw up all night because of the ribs he had in the restaurant. We ate the whole day the same things and the only difference was what we ordered in this restaurant. Would never go again and I have already told all my friends too to stay away. HEI Varna would be informed about the situation too, as my grandmother worked there for over 20 years. So they will get what’s coming to them with random checks all year.
But literally: don’t be stupid, Happy is across the street. It’s much cheaper, atmosphere is quite similar, and IT IS SAFER. Don’t risk getting food poisoning and being in bed all day for a mediocre meal and bad service.
Not to mention other things like: My Octopus was severely overcooked and chewy as if they didn’t want me to eat it, the beef tongue was dry yet drenched in oil (if you can even imagine how bad this tastes cause i barely could), the asparagus with the prosciutto looked very bad presentation wise and the taste was meh and the “village potatoes” were so damn oily you can get high cholesterol levels by just watching them.
Honourable mention: was our waiter who talked super nicely to us and when we didn’t order the expensive wine but ordered the cheaper one cause we just wanted a small 500ml wine bottle- looked at us differently and spoke to us differently. Also had to wait for the check for super long as I could not get the attention of even one of the waiters as they were all talking to each other and watching something on one of...
Read moreThe Food was very good, however The service was terrible, since we set down on the table they didn’t get us food and drink menu ! We asked for our bill, and when we checked it came to our attention that they have included in our bill the drinks from the next table. We explained that their mistake, they got a new bill where we still had drinks belongings to the next table. We call them and explain that is still not the right bill, then we found our self surrounded from all the waiters and the manager was just observing the situation. One of the waiters said just remove what ever doesn’t belong to u and pay. We fell very embraced as they were all around and talking in BG where it’s not a language I’m speaking. The most shocking situation was the manager that was next to them did not came to apologize or take over and handle this difficult situation and he just told to the waiters that was serving us give the money back. And the boy tried to put the money on my hand like take it then. That’s not a service for high quality restaurant. This is not right way to handle their same mistakes. Make feel bad...
