Happy Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Varna

I visit Varna every year and every year I traditionally visit Happy. For the last 3-4 years, I have observed that every year the quality of food and service drops drastically. So far, for my two-week visit to Varna and five visits to the Happy restaurant so far, the tables are dirty. You sit down and the staff cleans and after cleaning I clean again. You can see the wet wipe from the cleaned table. The menu with the offered drinks and food is greasy and dirty. You have to wash your hands afterwards….you're still going to eat right?! The chairs are greasy too. The quality of the Food is greatly underestimated. The staff is very young and without any professionalism. For one of my visits, I made an online reservation and it turned out that I didn't have a table ready. After waiting for 10 minutes, none of the hostesses paid attention to me that I had a reservation. I had to raise my voice after both hostesses turned their backs on me and talked to people without a reservation and not even intending to visit the restaurant. After raising my voice and insisting to be seated at my reserved table, one of the hostesses finally reluctantly let me pointed to a table with two chairs. I said that the table was for four people. Chairs were brought in, the table was cleaned after I sat down. I was expecting three people who also had a problem at the entrance. They had to wait….So after we finally sat down at the table to have dinner, I received an email from the Happy restaurant reservation site that I had not shown up at the restaurant. It was a shock to me, I'm having dinner with my friends and the staff didn't even note my arrival and the reservation I made. That's how I realized that the staff is completely useless and completely untrained. So this is my last visit to this restaurant. Dirty with unprofessional service and low...

The service at this place is appalling. We actually had a very good (and reasonably priced) meal and, since there were 4 of us, we asked our waitress to split the bill. We were told this "wasn't possible" because of a "new system" but I worked in food service before and this is a VERY touristy chain restaurant so I knew that was a complete lie. So we asked another person. Our first waitress came up and told him to say no since she had just told us no. He then proceeded to tell us that if we had "told him before he printed the bill" he would have been able to split it. To which I told him we absolutely did tell the waitress we wanted to split before the bill was printed.

I also offered for us to pay part in cash then the rest on card and was told that wasn't possible because of the "system". I pointed out that all he was doing was entering the amount on the credit card machine and surely he could just deduct the cash we give from the amount he enters on the machine and then there won't be any issue. He refused and said we can only pay all in cash or all on one card. It was patently ridiculous, especially for a tourist restaurant.

I completely do not understand why they argued with us the way they did. This was not a local place with two employees (which I would have understood more) but a fully operational tourist chain with amble ability to...

This experience was absolutely garbage. I had to ask twice for a high chair for my baby before going to get it myself. Then the waitress impatiently forced me to hurry up and order something I didn't want, and lied about the dish. When the food arrived it was sporadic and not all at once so my kids had to sit there and wait, forcing me to let my unwanted dish get cold. Chicken patties were cartoonishly small, the fry portions were for children on 13 and 14 bgn dishes. The waitress then tried to tell me the only sauce they had was mayonnaise or ranch. There was no AC inside like I was told, only oscillating fans on the wall. The call button did not work. This location is absolutely horrible. The location by the harbor was fantastic and I wish I had gone there again because this experience at this location was an absolute joke. The management sat at a booth our entire meal,joking and looking at their phones and made no effort to run the establishment. Then lastly, our servers disappeared and we had to pay someone else so I didn't tip at all as this person did surprisingly even less than our server who was asleep at best.
