Lazar is an amazing host! He is so kind, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are quiet and peaceful with a really nice view. The Wi-Fi worked super well for remote work when there were 2 guests, but struggled with more. Shared bathroom was kept clean, and the shower had great water pressure & temperature. Great for a short simple stay!
The only things I felt were missing were a bit of cleanliness (sheets were fresh but blankets in the cabinet clearly had not been washed in a long time and smelled odd, spiderwebs in corners, dusty floors) and the option to cook. It is in the best location, on Gurko Street, an old cobbled street in the Old Town, near the main shopping street and an easy walk to the Fortress and to the Etap bus stop. Front rooms upstairs have a great view across the river to the Four Kings Monument. Accommodation is basic but perfectly clean. A tiny, shared kitchenette has microwave, fridge, sink and dishes. Several rooms share just one wet-room with shower and toilet. (I think there is also a room with private bath but without the view). The room key was an antique iron one, a bit difficult to turn. Definitely good value for money and part of the experience of this...
Read moreThis is a wee guest house which does what it says on the tin. It's cheap cheerful and has an excellent quiet location in the old part of the town with the river down below. It's easy to access the town via perpendicular hills for the fit or longer roads for the more laid back We sacrificed a view for the ensuite option and the wee sitting out terrace was good for sipping wine and listening to the world go by. Old and new coexist and the place has an authentic feel in a lovely location. Many thanks too for picking us up a 2 train station - me at one my partner at the other as the train moved off and the doors closed as we were too tardy with...
