Hotel "Stambolov" — Hotel in Veliko Tarnovo

As we had to return to Veliko tarnova at short notice and late at night we booked this hostel on the internet a short time before out arrival.||On arrival this hostel does not look inviting from the street but once you get behind the large entrance doors it is nice and cheerful.||we took the large room which was very spacious and clean.||The WiFi worked as it should, as did the Air Con.||It is very well located in the Old Town just a few minutes from the Samovodska Charshia square with its workshops and bakeries etc.||It is also within a short walking distance from the tsaravets Fortress and the best Restaurants in VT.||If hanging around in hotels is a big part of your holiday this is not the place for you.||If you just want an economical, clean, pleasant and centrally located place to come back to after a long day it is...

For the price we had an excellent stay. Our host did not speak English so we used Google Translate but she was very very nice. We should have learnt some basic Bulgarian before travelling.||||We had two rooms and they were very very spacious, spotless clean, and comfortable. Air conditioning worked a trick, as did the hot water. Wi-Fi was a little slow on the first floor however. There were at least 4-5 floors here and I don't think there is a lift so maybe take care if you have mobility problems?||||Our balconies had stunning views of the valley and the location was very convenient with walking distance to both the castle and the old city/ lots of restaurants. It is very nice place with a wonderful view from the balcony. The location is great: right in center, so you can walk to every tourist attraction by feet. A minor inconvenience is that you have not enough kitchen equipment (you have plates, cups, cutting board, but no any frying pan, or ladle). It wasn’t critical for us, as there are a lot of places to have breakfast outside, and we stayed only for one night, but consider this if you plan it for a longer stay. Other than that everything was very cozy, and clean, the beds were comfortable, we also had a sofa in one of the rooms. And again, view from the balcony...
