La Jave Bleue Hotel in Kampot is a charming sanctuary that perfectly blends colonial elegance with modern comforts. Nestled in a prime central location, this home-hotel stands out for its stunning décor and unique character. Housed in a beautifully preserved colonial building, each of the six rooms features its own distinct Indochina theme, creating a memorable and immersive stay. From the moment you step into La Jave Bleue, the warm hospitality is evident. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, ensuring a personalized and welcoming experience. The owner goes above and beyond, offering insightful recommendations for nearby restaurants and local activities, adding a local touch to your visit. The hotel exudes tranquility, making it a peaceful retreat in the heart of Kampot. The policy of leaving shoes downstairs, or optionally bringing them up to your room, adds a homey feel while maintaining cleanliness. Although the terrace bar was a bit rustic during my visit, it offers a pleasant, airy space for lounging, adorned with striking graffiti that adds a touch of vibrancy. Security is thoughtfully managed with room keys that also provide access to the building, allowing guests to lock up when out late. While there isn’t a guard stationed around the clock, the hotel’s well-maintained premises and secure access ensure peace of mind. For those traveling with their own transportation, the hotel provides convenient parking options inside the premises. The central location is perfect for exploring Kampot’s array of restaurants and bars, all just a short walk away. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable, providing a luxurious yet cozy retreat after a day of exploration. In summary, La Jave Bleue Hotel offers an exceptional blend of elegance, comfort, and hospitality, making it a standout choice for anyone visiting Kampot.

What can I say about this gem of a French Colonial hotel? Firstly, Paschal is a superstar. He could not do enough to make our stay perfect and it was. He even rearranged our travel arrangements for us, and bought our ferry tickets that gave us an extra half day on Koh Rong. Our room was lovely and comfortable and the simple French breakfast exquisite. His restaurant recommendations were perfect. Paschal and his team were marvellous and I wish we had the time to have been able to stay longer at La Java Bleue.

Wonderful boutique Hotel experience - each room tastefully decorated in different style. Super location in the heart of downtown (but quiet), extremely clean, exceptionally friendly manager and staff. What's not to like? Highly recommended. (Interesting note: the only less than five-star reviews are at least 4 years old. Overall rating would be even more favorable if Google dropped old reviews.)
