Has been my regular place for breakfast over the past month and the food WAS very good however the previous 3 visits have left me underwhelmed. The poached eggs have been overcooked making the dish inedible for me. If you like eggs overcooked it would suit you, I don't and I will not be returning. Well I did inform the staff and how do you explain that on each occasion 1 egg was cooked perfectly and one was cooked until it had the texture of a brick

14 May 2025 Decided to return to give this restaurant another go despite the unhelpful response of the management from my prior review. Coffee was great, I spoke to the wait staff when ordering my food to ensure that my poached eggs would be cooked as I requested, she acknowledged my request. When my food arrived the dish was not as I requested with eggs cooked hard. When I pointed out to the wait staff that there was an issue to her credit she apologized but there was no offer to have the issue rectified. I paid for my coffee and left...

Food and Drinks: food and drink are nice. This is a popular place and I kind of expect more based on their popularity.

Price: price of a standard cafe.

Service: I think the service is a bit slow and the staff doesn't seem to be welcoming the customers. They are nice but they don't respond or give you enough info. Most of the time I need to make requests. Checking bill is also slow. Again, with their popularity, I have higher expectations 😅. I would recommend you sitting in the left side building with the popular staircase as they seems to provide better service.

Location and Atmosphere: the location is right across the river/stream (idk). The restaurant is a 2 flat building and each side is very different. Tasty, Good Quality & Pleasant; Room for Service Improvement, for the Price

$$–$$$ Very Good to Excellent, especially for SE Asia, without paying exorbitant prices. Light & crispy calamari appetizer, flavorful beef salad (if perhaps overly chopped), delicious Kampot Pepper ice cream and coconut sorbet. Glass of Argentine red: a bit rough on the palette; tight & acidy, but opened up a bit.

Cozy little patio. Too bad the staff lets beggars bother customers, which, real as it may be, and polite as they seem to be, takes away from the cachet and certainly the relatively higher price tag one pays for it. The staff’s English could improve, as most any question required calling over a manager for help, but this is a minor point when in fact, tourists should arguably be happy that the locals speak any...
