We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 6 week self guided cycle tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. had a booking at Paris Guest House II, through Agoda for around 6 months , but they disowned our booking and referred us here. The disinterested guy at check in wanted US$15 per room per night up front for an A/C room. The reason it was up front became apparent as soon as we entered the musty, damp rooms. On the up side, the room was large and the AC worked. On the down side, the room smelt of mould, despite 3 'air fresheners' being placed around the room. There was a window only to the hallway. The sheets were stained, the bed seemed to be missing a slat in the middle of the bed, there was dust and grunge everywhere, the hot water system didn't work, the fan in the bathroom didn't work - exacerbating the damp, (the fan looked like it had worked previously, for an extended period, but might have stopped when it clogged with dust), the drawers had miscellaneous dusty detritus including some dusty socks. The accommodation was set out in a bit of a maze and fire protection appeared rudimentary. This was the worst place we stayed in 6 weeks...
Read moreA Must-Visit Gem in the Heart of Kampot! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 Stars) I am consistently impressed with Old Town Mart. It has become my absolute go-to store in Kampot for two main reasons.
First, their selection of wine is fantastic. Whether you're looking for a nice bottle to enjoy with dinner at your guesthouse or a case for a special occasion, they have a great variety of flavours and regions to choose from. The best part? The prices are incredibly reasonable and responsible, especially for the quality offered. It's clear they want to make good wine accessible to everyone.
Secondly, and just as importantly for me, they now stock ZYN nicotine pouches! It can be hard to find a reliable source for ZYN in Cambodia, but Old Town Mart has solved that problem. They have a selection of different flavours, which is a huge bonus.
The store is clean, well-organized, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Whether you're a local, an expat, or a tourist, this mart is a true gem. I cannot recommend it...
Read moreWe didn't choose to come here but circumstances meant we ended up staying for 2 nights when the town was almost full. Service is fairly desultory & lacklustre, if you want something like toilet paper you have to ask twice, don't expect it in your room. The rooms are damp & musty & unclean -the small desk table that sits on 4 milk powder tins (?)had a drawer that was full to bursting & the bathroom sink & toilet were foul. At night it is very noisy due mainly to the building design where the old shutters to the corridor are shut with a curtain. The only redeeming features were excellent wifi and plenty of English TV channels. At $US15 per night, after 2 weeks in Vietnam where service & cleanliness are top class, this...
