AVOID AT ALL COSTS, We booked and paid for two nights to stay here - on arrival the receptionist told us we had breakfast included and showed us were to go in the morning, we then went to breakfast in the morning (not a breakfast person) so we only went because we were told that it was included.||Half way through eating our breakfast, a staff member comes over and tell us we have to pay extra for the breakfast. To our surprise (why they didn’t tell us or make sure they provided the correct information to their clients) we asked to speak to a manager, we went to our room quickly got ready for the day and then we waited in the reception for over 25 minutes for 4/5 staff members standing at the desk - also behaving as though we were criminals. I was staying with my elderly mother, who has been travelling round with me. ||We have stayed at 15 hotels over the last few weeks and never have we been treated in this manner. Whilst getting ready they harassed us calling our room phone, three times saying they needed us to sign something and said they will come up to our room, after we had already explained we would be down shortly. ||After being told we were lying and that we definitely not entitled to breakfast by the member of staff that didn’t check us in, we reluctantly offered to pay. ||Following another 10 minutes waiting, we decided we really needed to get on with our day and one of the 5 members of staff said you come back later. ||Bearing in mind we had fully paid for our room and paid a $50 deposit - on our return to the hotel after a full day exploring Phnom Penh we returned to find our room had not been made and after having a shower, we received another phone call from reception telling us we had to leave and find somewhere else to stay!!!!!||So late at night we were packing and trying to find an alternative accommodation.||Absolutely disgusting and I can say I have stayed in many hotels with work as a professional and for pleasure and I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER been treated like this. They truly behaved as if we were criminals. ||This was extremely distressing for myself and my mother and completely outrageous. ||We are yet to receive our deposit back and we paid for 2 nights to stay - please do not stay here! The staff members actually laughed as my mother...

✅ |The room was spacious and clean, and felt surprisingly luxe. The beds were comfy and the heavy duty curtains allowed for a good nights sleep. ||Breakfast was varied, with both western and Asian dishes available. We made good use of the swimming pool, and found it a perfect place to cool off in the scorching Cambodian heat. ||The in-house restaurant was really nice, and we enjoyed lunch by the pool and dinner on the rooftop bar. Happy Hour was great value and our cocktails were delicious. ||Location wqs fair, with a really nice supermarket (called Super Duper) less than 5 minutes away.||❌|The hotel messaged on the platform used to reserve (not TA) to request confirmation of attendance, and threatened to cancel the booking if no reply was received within 24H. Even after I sent confirmation I was shocked to receive the same message the following day threatening cancellation if no response was received. This one I ignored and thankfully the booking was intact. Nonetheless this is a very poor system, as it should be assumed all bookings are confirmed and secured once made! I’ve never had this from any other hotel before. ||Our bathroom drain must have been blocked as the shower flooded the whole bathroom, no matter how short the shower was on for. ||Our stay included a free massage. It was disappointing that this was only available to one person (of the two travelling).||$50 deposit upon arrival also seems...

lovely stay at the hotel, especially the hot jacuzzi. the hotel also has a small pool and a gym to workout. the gym is huge. views at the gym, rooftop lounge and swimming pool are spectacular. sunset view at the jacuzzi is amazing. the room is spacious and has plenty of pillows. the room is not carpeted, only the corridor is carpeted. carpets are hard to clean. the view is 180 degrees. the staff are patient and well trained. they help you with the luggage when you are going down the long flight of stairs from the lobby to the ground floor. when it is raining, they would seal off the flight of stairs to prevent guests from slipping. the food at the restaurant has some local specialties. we tried the khmer curry. it is very flavorful and has a lot of different textures. the chicken is a bit dry, best to use chicken wings. we also tried the cashew nut chicken. again the chicken is too dry, chicken wings are better. the location of the hotel is great, central location to the grand palace, markets and big malls.

Stayed ten days. Decent location with convenience stores nearby. Some local dining choices and excellent boba tea a couple blocks over. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Daily: salad, rice porridge, fruit selection, dry cereals, breads, and yogurt. Two juice options. New cappuccino/latte machine installed during our stay. Egg/omelette cooked to order. Noodle bar cooked to order. Rotating hot meal stations with almost no repetition during our whole stay. It’s a great way to try Khmer dishes. Room is clean. Two bottles of water given daily. Pool and fitness areas are clean and nice. The staff at the front desk and cafe were awesome. Very welcoming. So why only four stars? Wi-Fi was not good in our 7th floor room. Very unstable making it difficult to stay connected for remote working. And while the location is okay it’s not really close to any tourist destinations. Tuk tuk costs $1-3 for most places around town. $14 for a round trip to the Killing Fields.

Once we had arrived we received a cold towel and a can of coke which was a lovely touch. Make sure to have $50 handy for the deposit, this needs to be cash. We were shown our room and how to function the air con etc.. by the bellboy. Big bed, lovely bathroom, fridge and safe, we had problems with our safe but it worked in the end. The hotel has a rooftop pool with comfy sunbeds and has 4 jacuzzi’s, and a steam room with access to purchase drinks. The location is ok, we chose to use grab frequently to get around and the price of this was between $0.90-$1.80. City attractions are within walking distance though. We did not have breakfast so cannot review this, the price was $10.70 for one person! Overall it was a pleasant stay at HM grand hotel.
