A good hotel in the down town Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It is not located in the main road of Phnom Penh city, but a bit further 100-150 meter from the busy road of Sihanouk Boulevard. It is also not far from Preah Monivong - Sihanouk Blvd junction.
There is no gate to the property whatsoever because this property is located on the roadside. that its main entrance (entry/exit door) borders the narrow alley, enough for two cars to in different direction.
Although from outside this hotel is not that so nice and makes people impressed in the first sight, but once you enter the lobby of the hotel, then you can feel the good ambience. Inside the hotel, you will feel it is a modern look hotel, simplicity and good lighting design, clean and neat. I guess Xiaomi things (I mean Xiaomi household appliances) are at play in this hotel. Some (or many) electrical appliances used in this hotel seems to similar with Xiaomi design, which is sleek and functional and light colored.
Waitress are kind, nice and warm hearted. You stay for a while in the lobby of the hotel, and you most probably will be offered with a bottled drinking water; not like other hotel where mostly will offer you with drink or snacks menu to buy. Although you will not drink the bottled water (sometimes you just don't want to drink), but at least you are being treated very well by this hotel's people.
Price-wise, it is a good hotel but with affordable rate.
Very well...
Read moreThe biggest reason to give Maxx Phnom Penh Downtown a five-star rating is definitely its extraordinary service. This trip was greatly enhanced by your service.Front desk efficiency and enthusiasm: Upon arrival, not only did they check in quickly and efficiently, but they also took the initiative to introduce the hotel facilities and surrounding information. Their sincere smiles made people relax instantly.Meticulous room service: The room service responded very quickly. When they needed extra pillows and towels, they were delivered within a few minutes; the room was cleaned and tidy every day, and the items were replenished in time.Ubiquitous care: What impressed us most was the hotel staff's awareness of proactively discovering needs. Seeing that I was a little confused holding a map, the concierge took the initiative to ask and provide suggestions for the best route; the restaurant waiter noticed the taste of the elders in the same group, and took the initiative to recommend more suitable dishes and adjust the methods]. This kind of heartfelt care far exceeds the standardized service process. Of course, the hotel's facilities are also great, but the warmth of Maxx Phnom Penh Downtown's service is the core that really makes this place different.Thank you to every dedicated employee of [Hotel Name], you are the hotel's most valuable asset! Next time I come to Phnom Penh, this must be the...
Read moreWe arrived around 8pm and we asked about our welcome drink after check in but was told that it is too late to get welcome drink. Anyway the pro of this hotel is pretty new, western, very comfortable bed and servers in the coffee shop are polite and pleasant especially Lek. The toilet is very modernize with multi function (Japanese). Location is not close enough to walk to some of the attraction places but close enough by car/tuk tuk, etc. The downside of this hotel is that air con weak, shower not hot enough but good pressure. Don't think the housekeeper clean too well as and they never replaced the toiletries even I lay the empty shower, shampoo, body lotion bottle on the counter and they still didn't get the hints - it is 2 of us and staying for 4 nights. So I ended up going to the housekeeper trolley and ask for replacement. Our TV remote wasn't working properly and our safety deposit box battery was finished and we address the Aircon, TV and safety deposit box issues at the front desk next morning before we went out, only the safety deposit box was fixed but not the other issues. Breakfast buffet is mainly catered to the Chinese and it was pretty boring. The cereal is stale and foods is barely warm and was filled up little by little each time when it run out. The egg station and the noodle station is the decent part of the buffet. It is a shame that the rooftop bar...
