I stayed at the Monsoon Bed and Breakfast in Siem Reap for 5 days a few weeks ago, and it was an excellent choice. We wanted a place that was away from all of the commercialism and gaudiness that has cropped up in this area. The Monsoon was perfect! Jerry and Thina are wonderful hosts, and staying at a homestay instead of a hotel gives one the opportunity to learn so much more. Mr. C. was extremely patient with everything that we wanted to do, (sometimes returning to the same place multiple times) and gave us additional insights into the Cambodian culture. He was also able to take us to places outside of the tour bus crowds as much as possible.||If you are going to Siem Reap and want to stay somewhere wonderful but under-the-radar, then you should definitely stay...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed at Monsoon Bed and Breakfast in Siem Reap for five days in January 2006. This was by far the most rewarding bed and breakfast stay we have ever experienced during our many years of travels. The hosts, Thina and Jerry, are longtime Cambodia residents, fluent in Khmer, and very knowledgeable about local sights, history, culture etc. Their attention to detail is evident in the stylish decor of the residence, the high level of professional service, and the outstanding five-course Cambodian meal that is served nightly, upon request. Drivers, guides and tours to the Angkor temples are easily arranged. I would highly recommend Monsoon to anyone who wishes to experience a first-rate homestay experience while...
