In our first room, the window didn't close. Their answer, no problem we will fix it tomorrow. We refused to sleep on a room where someone could enter from the balcony and also the mosquitoes, since that is an issue here. Only after we said we would not stay, they changed us for another room, but only after all the team trying to close what we already showed wasn't possible. (But maybe we are slow) The second night, electricity goes out on some rooms, 1h already passed and no solution. (Update 2.0, 30min more, they hope. Update 2.1, some one elderly felt in the room because there is a step after every bed to the bathroom and with no lights is an accident waiting to happen. Time of response for medical team 15/20min, not bad. Update 2.2, only a couple of minutes after everything was solved, they remember to tell us, understandable, since an accident happened, but they only remembered us because they did the check-in for new guests.) While the energy was out, they told us to wait in the lobby were you have one off the workers using an orange vest with is feet over the table where they do the check-in, he is on is phone looking at some videos at maximum sound. So, really professional. And not even a tea or glass of water was offered while we were waiting for them to solve the eletric issue... We have been awake since 4h, because we did the sunrise and now it is 10pm. 3rd and last🙏. We arrive in the room and th door is unlocked (really safe). Also, it smells like someone smoked inside our room. So far, we don't notice anything missing besides one hygiene product, that we can not prove anything, and right now, we just want to leave, and everything that happened before showed us that they are unprofessional and incapable of solve anything or be a good host. (Also the waiting area today had cigarette butts on the floor and the already knew when I informed them, but made nothing to clean.
Also, this hotel is further from the city, and when we booked, we put our filters, close to the city centre... (maybe not their fault, but the booking platform) There is no pressure in the shower, and the water is not really hot. When the sunrise you wake up, since all the light gets in the room. Breakfast is really bad. You are presented with four options, but the bread and croissant was a from 3 days ago. Not accessible, you need to go on uneven steps to your room 3 floors up. (And a step inside of every room) No emergency map escape. And if a fire starts, there is no second exit or fire extinguisher, only a hose near the main stair. (And like I reported before, they have electric issues, so water...
Read moreI'm so sad to say that this hotel disappoint me so so much!! Our original booking was 6th to 8th. We checked in on 6th afternoon, checked out straight away on the same day after we came back During the night. We booked 2 rooms. I got the corner room with private balcony. When I stepped into the room, the floor was dusty, basin was choked, there is used bandage pasted on the bathroom, toilet bowl was not flush with lots of hair, obviously the housekeeping didn't do their job well. My friend got the room next next to us. I have requested room next to each other and understand is subject to availability. When my friend stepped into the room, she just felt not right and uncomfortable. They have the shared balcony with a stranger, their room curtain unable to open otherwise next door stranger could see through everything. Their room was dirty and dusty as well. The building outlook and the picture shown was different. The real building was abit old and gloomy. It is literally concrete room with no fancy design and decorate. No window or ventilation in the bathroom/ toilet. It is quite a distance from the hotel to the old market street. Last, a compliment to the front counter girl. When we raise the request to change the room, we don't mind to pay extra. I can see that she really put effort to look for a new room for us but the room she show us was different room type from my booking and it was dusty as well. She even asked us the reason of checked out and help us to book a tuktuk to New hotel as a compensation. Thanks to her we got a fun night on tuktuk! A great experience that washed away our unhappiness on looking for new hotel.Honestly, I wish i could get a refund from hotel no need full refund but atleast a partial...
Read moreI stayed at Boutique Indochine d’Angkor for a short trip, and while there are some positives about the hotel, my overall experience was mixed and I feel it’s important to share the details for future guests.
First, the location of the hotel is very convenient. It is close to the main attractions and easy to reach by tuk tuk. The exterior design and pool area look beautiful and inviting, and on first impression, the property feels welcoming. The staff were polite when I arrived, and check-in was handled without issue. The room I was given was 402, located at the top of the boutique building. The space itself is quite large, with enough room to move comfortably, and the natural light from the windows gave it a nice atmosphere.
However, once I settled in, the problems became noticeable. The towels provided were old, worn out, and did not look or feel very clean. For a hotel that advertises itself as a boutique property, I expected higher standards in terms of linen and bathroom supplies. The biggest issue was the smell in the room. There was a strong odor of cigarette smoke that made the stay uncomfortable, especially for someone like me who prefers a fresh and clean environment. Even after opening the windows, the smell remained.
Overall, I would say the hotel has potential, but maintenance and cleanliness need serious improvement. Guests today expect more attention to detail, especially when it comes to hygiene. If the management invests in upgrading towels, ensuring rooms are smoke-free, and maintaining consistent cleaning standards, this could become a much better place to stay. For now, I can only give it an average rating based on...
