Sadly, my room had a dirty bed, and the manager Vinny was unkind and unavailable while I was at the inn. This was unfortunate, as the inn is beautiful, and Tina from the front desk is amazing.
My experience with the inn was great until I went to get into bed at ~ 10:15pm, and immediately noticed it had a small dark spot of dried blood, a pubic hair, and a ton of short dark hair all over the sheets.
I called the hotel staff, and the male night staff immediately came up to the room and confirmed that the bed was dirty. He moved us right away to a smaller room with the same sized beds. This of course was a huge inconvenience, as my son and I were ready for bed and needed up to be up at 6 AM. The new room had fewer outlets, and the bedside table was broken. It felt like our room had been downgraded.
The next morning when I spoke to the day staff, the night staff hadn’t informed them about my issue. The day staff were wonderful, and said they would leave a note for the manager (Vinny), and that he would take care of it. They said he would be available on Sunday, and to speak with him then. When I went to check out on Sunday I asked to speak to the manager, and was told that he was not in. The inn staff then asked me to call him on Monday.
When I called to speak to Vinny (the manager) on Tuesday, I explained what had happened. He was unsympathetic and unkind, and said the protocol in this situation was to offer me a new room or a refund, although I was never offered a refund.
I said that it was really gross to be in a dirty bed, and that I thought he would like to know about the situation, and that he would want to do something more about it. He disagreed, and said that he could not see why I thought there was a problem.
He used Walmart as an analogy, and said that if you purchased a product, and there was something wrong with the product, you could return it for another one, and it would be done and over with. He thought this situation was similar. I paid for a service, I received the service I paid for. There was no need for further compensation. He said there was nothing he could do for me, so I asked him for his name, and he said goodbye.
This of course was very upsetting!
About an hour and a half later he called me back, and said he had spoke to someone on the phone, and that they could offer me a $25 discount. I told him that I felt he should pay for one night of my two night stay. He said that he had bills to pay, and that the cleaning staff were human, and that everybody makes mistakes. He disagreed, said he couldn’t give me a night for free. He said if I wanted to call him back and get the $25 discount I could, but there was nothing more he could do for me, said “God bless”, and hung up.
So they did offer me a $25 discount (out of the $257.58 I spent for the 2 nights) for the trouble of having a dirty bed, moving at 10:30 at night, having a manager that was unavailable, and ultimately dismissive of the situation, and how I felt!
For this I have to say, choose another...

We stayed at Quality Inn Bathurst for an overnight visit before an important medical appointment for my son at the nearby hospital. We chose this hotel based on the hospital’s recommendation, expecting a restful and comfortable stay—but unfortunately, our experience was far from that.
Cleanliness: 0 The room was in very poor condition. The carpet was so sticky we had to wear slippers at all times just to feel comfortable. Even worse, there were bugs in the room—my children noticed several inside the bathroom. This level of cleanliness is simply unacceptable.
Service: While I initially tried to overlook the condition of the room, the behavior of one staff member made things worse. I was making waffles for my family at breakfast when she abruptly told me to stop halfway through because someone else was going to use it. Her tone was rude and dismissive, and it felt completely uncalled for. We were just trying to have a peaceful meal before a very important day for our family.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience compelled me to speak up so others are aware. We came to Bathurst looking for rest and peace of mind before my son's cochlear implant activation—but instead, we left feeling disrespected and stressed. I sincerely hope the management takes feedback like this seriously, for the sake of...
Read moreOur stay at The Quality Inn Bathurst was nice. The room was separated into two separate sleeping areas, which was an unexpected bonus.
The breakfast area was not laid out well: since everything was on counters that were against the wall, it created a bottleneck and long wait times. It was the worst to get to anything that was in the corner (the jams, etc.), since that area was blocked by the people getting food on either side of the corner. The layout creates much bigger wait times, particularly during peak hours.
My major issue that I had was the hotel's lack of sustainability practices. Though the Quality Inn will only wash your sheets every three days during an extended stay, which is better for the environment, I was flabbergasted with how much PLASTIC was offered at the continental breakfast. I do understand offering to-go coffee cups (though the ceramic coffee mugs should be offered at eye-level to entice more people to use a ceramic mug if they don't need a to-go cup). However, all of the plates, juice cups, and utensils were disposable and it creates a huge waste. I was very...
