Lis Restaurant & Take Out — Restaurant in Bathurst

I've been to Lis regularly since my first review. The staff is ever so friendly, remember all the time the little details, and the price is amazing for both quality, quantity, and option.

Lis takeout is a buffet style. Not an unlimited buffet, just a regular "pick your options". Most people would believe buffet mean "all you can eat", but this is just a misconception that most local Chinese places decided to adhere.

The food selections is great, even if I take always the same option. The chicken balls are the most generous I ever saw, the shrimps taste amazing, the rice and rib sauce is my recommendation, and the free chips are nice snacks. The sushi selection is great and price surprisingly low. I'm not a sushi guy but friends recommandations.

The main staff is super friendly. I've been there enough that the cook/husband is able to recognize me by voice, even if he never saw me. The tables are clean and organized so that we can enjoy our food.

They have a neat little reward system which let you get free food when you save your little receipt slip. Got a few free plates, and they gave lil baggies to hold the receipts.

Overall, worth driving 2 hours now and then...

Simple Chinese food that has found a following in a town that offers very little in the way of variety. That is not to take away from Lis - rather I commend them for continuing to push the boundaries of ethic cusine in an otherwise culinary homogenous town. Lis have branched off into sushi as well which is comparable to anything you will find in the city. As a vegetarian, they have a few options with noodies, veggies and veggie patties and of course spring rolls. I found out that BooBoo Balls are a thing out east and this place does them well! Direspectful. Went here with my girlfriend, 1yr old and newborn. Waited in line for 7mins which was fine, got up, they had like nothing left which I get it, it's 5pm, busy time. Placed my order, then my girlfriend went to give hers to which the servers ignored her and started to take the order behind us. Ok maybe an accident, then we said excuse me 3x to which no one cared. Ended up walking out without anything. Heard good things about the food, too bad their was hardly anything there besides...
