McMaster Accommodations — Hotel in Hamilton

Filthy bedding-found pubic hair, crumbs, stains & stones on sheets! Absolutely disgusting. My wife was bitten(see photos) in 2 places by a strange insect or bed bugs that resulted in very swollen, itchy, painful sores that oozed blood & clear fluid for weeks. She needed medical care, antibiotics & Prednisone. Death trap just millimeters from walkway(see photos). Toilet clogged. Uncomfortable beds w/1 flattened pillow. No A/C in summer w/zero breeze even with open windows & fan, reaching temperatures upwards of 90°C+. Reserved & paid for a room late one night, only to be turned away in the pouring rain & told someone else booked our room after we did. They sure took our money though, which was finally refunded after almost a week of waiting on it. As if all this wasn't bad enough, we had to wait 4 hours in the sweltering living room for a supervisor to arrive & search for our booking & our room #/key. The owner is never present, completely hands off. Could barely reach him on the phone to discuss every problem this place had. The only redeeming feature of this fly by night hole in the wall is a decent location of Hamilton.

I highly recommend taking this authentic review seriously so no one else has to live through this nightmare that was supposed to be a comfortable & enjoyable stay. I would give zero stars⭐if it was possible.

*PLEASE NOTE: I JUST SAW THE RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW FROM WHATEVER MANAGEMENT WORKS HERE & I FEEL IT IS MY JOB TO MENTION THAT WHAT WAS WRITTEN ABOUT CALLING POLICE TWICE IS A FABRICATED STORY THAT IS MADE UP. REALITY IS AFTER PAYING FOR ALMOST A WEEK WE WERE WOKEN UP TO POLICE KNOCKING ON OUR DOOR ONE MORNING & REASON GIVEN WAS THAT OUR ROOM WAS DOUBLE BOOKED & WE HAD TO LEAVE WITH NO REASON GIVEN IS EVEN THOUGH WERE PAYED UP FOR NEXT 5 DAYS THERE WERE NO ROOMS AVAILABLE. When questioned about how this could happen there was absolutely no reason given & no management or representative present or reachable by phone or email. There were only the police there to tell us there was nothing we could do & had to leave. Despite proving our paid booking to police they informed us we had no rights to stay & had to leave immediately. We had to wait 7 days for our $450 to be refunded. McMaster Accommodations offered no compensation for the egregious & unprofessional error that left us on the street, out of all our money, unable to afford even a single night's stay anywhere until our money was refunded! I recently had a long term stay at McMaster accomadations right before moving into my new apartment, and the owner, Walter, was an absolute godsend! He was very kind and helped accommodate me and the time I needed while I dealt with the stress of moving into my apartment, ensuring I felt very welcomed and comfortable! I have used quite a few BNB's while travelling through the years from the GTA, and he is by far one of the nicest and most responsive hosts I've had the pleasure of meeting! Aside from that, you can't beat the location! Whether ur travels are for work or simply leisure, your walking distance to lots of restaurants, fast food, grocery, shopping and minutes away from McMaster Uni (perfect if your a student or teacher!) Also super close to the heart of Dundas...great for shopping while also enjoying the beautiful scenery if your travelling! The people were very friendly and kind, even the cleaning staff made an effort to make me feel welcome and at home. With a price that is hard to beat for the location and quality, McMaster accomadations is definately the perfect spot to stay for anyone looking for a relaxed, clean and pleasant long or short term stay! The pre-arrival instructions were fantastic and the communication was prompt and informative from the host.

I had a complete 100% contactless arrival and departure which was also appreciated as I arrived in the early hours.

The shower unit was awesome. Amazing temperature and pressure!

Lots of parking on the side streets but if during fhe week it’s 2hr stay max but I just moved the car a couple times

Kitchen had full facilities which was appreciated and there is a mini mart opposite the property so was able to buy cereal and milk.. 😢: The room walls were very thin. Let’s just say that the couple in the room opposite had an amazing time - twice at 11pm at night and 4.30am - safe to say I pretty much heard every word and sound.

Then someone got up at 5am for a shower and bedroom 3 is right next to the washroom so that stopped some of the noise from the happy couple, but then he decided to have a full blown conversation at the top of his voice in the corridor before leaving the property at 5.30am.
