My wife and I booked two nights here a month in advance. When we arrived there on the busiest holiday weekend of the year, we were greeted by an individual by the name of Derek we won't soon forget. The room we booked is unavailable. Why? Because our ownership changed. And the room is taken. Strange response from the front desk.|| My wife and I are in Bobcaygeon every 2, 3 months and we always stay at the princess Motel. Not any more. When my wife complained after the fact that the room that we booked was taken...by someone else. Theres another room which is more expensive on the main floor but we already had a prebook cheaper room on the top floor. So after my wife muttered a couple complaints about that this, this individual opens his mouth and says to me verbatim...." if you guys are going to b** and moan why don't you go to another hotel"? I said excuse me????? He said this after I paid over 200 bucks which is more than I should have paid for what I booked and I was ready to swipe my card for a $250 deposit that he wants that we never used to get asked for.|| What on Earth kind of business owner would buy a business that has a tarnished reputation and put an ignorant stupid person like that at the front desk? And after I got my refund and slammed the door and left that place I had to go spend two hours and try to find another room because I had to stay up at my dad's it was either that or we go home we almost had to go home and we can only stay one night here instead of two thanks to this person. Absolutely disgraceful Service as I said I come up here every 2 or 3 months for about 10 years I will never ever use the princess Motel again! I don't care if the owner phones me an apologizes and offers a free deal I'm never staying there again because of this person Derek. ||Please stay away from Princess Motel there are other motels in Bobageon and that are far superior That service was disrespectful, very unprofessional and disgraceful. ||I've never written a bad review anything like this. We are both...
Read moreWe stayed at the Princess Motel for one night while in Bobcaygeon. The room was a tad funky smelling to begin with but given the age of the building, I wasn't too surprised. The rooms had been painted at some point but the decor, bed, bathroom fixtures, etc. look like they may be original or close to. The air conditioning worked which was wonderful given the heat of the day. The water in shower shifted from warm to scalding and then to freezing at will on the day that we arrived. The following morning, it seemed to have righted itself. The bathroom was really dated although I did get a chuckle from the kitchen faucet setup on the sink. The overall cleanliness wasn't the greatest [black foreign substance on the bathroom floor that may have been falling from the ceiling and a long dark hair (not mine)], but we'd had a long day, and for one night, it wasn't a deal breaker. The price was a bit high (CAD$150) but the location was good - about a 5 minute walk from town. The room came supplied with hair and face products, hair dryer, towels ... Would I stay again? Unfortunately, no. There are other places in Bobcaygeon that offer what the Princess does without the bathroom "add-ons" for about the same price. All-in-all, a 1 on my...
Read moreWe spent 2 nights at this motel. We have travelled the world and rarely to never, have we ever been in rooms that were so unclean. I gave it 2 stars rather than 0 as I appreciated that the motel was open over Christmas, and the beds were comfortable. We had 3 rooms in our group in the main building. ( room 1,3 and 4) We read the reviews about the motel being dated and frankly that is a real understatement. Putting that aside though, most of the surfaces in the rooms had not been wiped down at all in a very long time. The bathroom in room 3 was disgusting in that the mirror had old toothpaste stains, I found long black hairs in both the shower and floor. I knocked the trash can over and the side not facing me frankly looked like someone spit in it and missed. The tables in the rooms were sticky with old food. Underneath the sink in the bathrooms looked like they had not been cleaned in years. It all suggests neglect...
