Fairway Inn & Suites — Hotel in Kitchener

Arrived at this Hotel after booking with another “budget hotel” in the area. Couldn’t even stay in the previous room for an hour. Was disgusting. This hotel checked us (my bf and I) quickly and the young male attendant offered to show us a variety of rooms. We chose 101. King bed. Non smoking and basic furnishings.

It was $100 including tax and a $50 deposit. I only had $49 on me. After paying for the room and the deposit I had .80 cents left in my purse. I left feeling like I was being judged.

Later last night i went to the office to ask for another pillow (they are flat and lifeless here) and now the night manager (Indian Female) was there. After a few minutes I had my pillow but it seemed like it was a big deal. I was told they would have to go to the basement to find one…. As a paying guest I didn’t think I needed that guilt trip. Also the Night Manager reminded me I only paid $49 (not $50) for my deposit. As an insult. Fun times.

The bed is nice. The shower tap is broken and I was standing in a foot of water the entire shower. The tv is old and standard definition and won’t do streaming.

Broken bedroom lamps held with duct tape. Missing wall sconces. Broken AC unit that cut out many times last night.

Fast forward to this morning. While I’m in the closet sized bathroom a giant cockroach comes out of a crack in the wall. DISGUSTING!!’

I killed it but after screaming and calling for my boyfriend. I don’t pay money to sleep in a trashy 80s decorated bug palace.

If I could give this place zero I would. I am not the type of person to complain but wow this place is bad. I stayed for a weekend because all other places were booked and I would have rather slept in my car. There was no heat and I was forced to sleep in my clothes. There was mold in the bathroom and everytime I used an appliance the power went out.. I had what I could only imagine was a pimp call my room repeatedly at 4 am asking if I was looking for Veronica.. And when I brought up the no heat to the front desk I was met with attitude and he said he would get me a heater... Which he did.. At 3am that night... Really? But it was a tiny radial heater that barely worked. All he was concerned about was telling me no refunds. And the story gets worse.. I accidentally left my inhaler there and when I called back the next day, he told me to call back 5 times. Then on the last time a woman picked up who was soo unbelievably rude told me to call back again and when I asked her if she could take my name and number if they could call me back if they found what I left there, she said no and I'm not even kidding you... She just stopped talking and purposely ignored me like a 5 year old till I hung up... This place needs to...

Lots of bed bugs, walls are falling apart, the ceilings are disgusting, the room is REALLY small it should NOT cost more than 100 dollars but they charged us for 120 dollars when it said 80 online and before, the chairs look like they were picked up from the trash and they are very dirty, the indian man and woman are really rude and have horrible customer service they did not want to give us our 50 dollar deposit and wanted to charge us extra for no reason, they wanted us to clean everything after ourselves like we are the work employees we are literally paying them to stay in the room and do whatever we want but the woman started yelling at us like shes mental over some pieces of paper we left in the room they are getting paid to clean the rooms not us were not supposed to do their job, they are a bunch of scammers and liars they want to get paid so much while doing no work at all and want us to do all the work, they need inspection as soon as possible, theres no way someone can trust them to work at the motel, they do no work at all and are getting paid, nothing is cleaned properly someone needs to check them or stop them i do not recommend this motel it is expensive and dirty and the services is horrible i would give 0...
