NIGHTMARE!
I called the resort last week to inquire about a booking for my wife and me. I was greeted on the phone by Manager Karine Noury. We wanted to book a one-night stay, but Karine explained that the minimum booking was two nights. However, she agreed to make an exception for us. She informed us that check-in was at 16:00 and checkout was at 11:00. She also mentioned that the pool, spa, gym, and tennis facilities were open from 10:00 to 16:45.
Naturally, I asked if this meant we could only use the facilities for a short 45 minutes between 16:00 and 16:45 on the day of our arrival, or if we could perhaps arrive earlier and relax by the pool until our room was ready. I also inquired if we could use the pool after 11:00 on the day of checkout. Karine immediately became passive-aggressive. She said if we wanted to use the pool for longer hours, we should book another night. After pleading with her for a few minutes, she reluctantly agreed.
When we arrived at the hotel, we noticed that the room was $298.00 — $125 more than the same room listed on their website for $175.00 (see photos). When I asked her about this, she explained that the extra charge was due to the exception she made for us to accommodate a one-night stay instead of two. Not really an exception, if you're charging almost double. 🙄
The rooms: They were okay but dated, with a horrible mattress and NO AC. The temperature in the condo went up to 27°C.
The next day, when we checked out, we asked if we could go for a swim. To our amazement, when we arrived at the pool, it was half empty and being drained. We went back to the lobby to ask what was going on and were met by Karine. Now, I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but I’d bet my life she emptied the pool just to mess with us. She informed us that the pool wouldn’t be reopened until the next day and that we had to leave.
We asked to speak to the General Manager, Guymond Fortin. They had us wait for 25 minutes in the lobby. When I finally got into his office to explain the situation, I was met with the same passive-aggressive attitude. At that point, I decided to leave.
They also falsely advertise a large pool with a waterslide, and sauna (see photos), but this pool is reserved for condo owners...
