NIGHTMARE!

I called the resort last week to inquire about a booking for my wife and me. I was greeted on the phone by Manager Karine Noury. We wanted to book a one-night stay, but Karine explained that the minimum booking was two nights. However, she agreed to make an exception for us. She informed us that check-in was at 16:00 and checkout was at 11:00. She also mentioned that the pool, spa, gym, and tennis facilities were open from 10:00 to 16:45.

Naturally, I asked if this meant we could only use the facilities for a short 45 minutes between 16:00 and 16:45 on the day of our arrival, or if we could perhaps arrive earlier and relax by the pool until our room was ready. I also inquired if we could use the pool after 11:00 on the day of checkout. Karine immediately became passive-aggressive. She said if we wanted to use the pool for longer hours, we should book another night. After pleading with her for a few minutes, she reluctantly agreed.

When we arrived at the hotel, we noticed that the room was $298.00 — $125 more than the same room listed on their website for $175.00 (see photos). When I asked her about this, she explained that the extra charge was due to the exception she made for us to accommodate a one-night stay instead of two. Not really an exception, if you're charging almost double. 🙄

The rooms: They were okay but dated, with a horrible mattress and NO AC. The temperature in the condo went up to 27°C.

The next day, when we checked out, we asked if we could go for a swim. To our amazement, when we arrived at the pool, it was half empty and being drained. We went back to the lobby to ask what was going on and were met by Karine. Now, I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but I’d bet my life she emptied the pool just to mess with us. She informed us that the pool wouldn’t be reopened until the next day and that we had to leave.

We asked to speak to the General Manager, Guymond Fortin. They had us wait for 25 minutes in the lobby. When I finally got into his office to explain the situation, I was met with the same passive-aggressive attitude. At that point, I decided to leave.

They also falsely advertise a large pool with a waterslide, and sauna (see photos), but this pool is reserved for condo owners...

Cap Tremblant Hotel was an amazing experience. We rented their chalet for the first time for March break this year. The reason why we chose this resort was because it was situated very close to Mount Tremblant Village and was reasonably priced. What we didn’t realize how beautiful the views of the mountain were and all the awesome amenities this resort offered. Upon our arrival to our chalet we were greeted with a family of deers walking on our backyard, unfortunately it was too dark for us to capture them in motion. They however came to visit us in the morning again and we got to feed them. The views from our chalet were absolutely spectacular and it was amazing to breathe clean oxygen from all the nature surrounding the resort. Our chalet was on the first floor and had everything we needed to cook and had descent wifi available. My only suggestion if you have kids that like to watch movies or cartoons then bring your laptop to watch Netflix or download movies to watch ahead, as the tv Chanels were very limited and all in French. Our room had a bath tub with jets, which were very helpful to accomplish full body relaxation after long riding and skiing days spent on the slopes. Our chalet was also located close to a heated outdoor pool and hot tubs with awesome views. However they were not always open so call to check the availability first. Massive Chess table is always available at the lobby for those who prefer to stay indoors. We loved our stay in Cap Tremblant Hotel and looking forward to exploring it in the summer as well.

Lets start with the positive point and that is the location. Within a 10 min drive you are in the small city of Mont-Tremblant which is great. However when we checked in our hotel room the smell was horrible old and nasty. At the time of stay when we where there the temprature was about 30 celcius which is really hot. The only thing what the hotel tried to manage against the heat. Was that they placed 2 ventilators in the room NO AC. In Other words what pissed me off is that we booked for 2 nights and couldnt sleep in our room because it was 30 degrees celcius! Even at night it was 27 degrees celcius with the windows open. In this case we went back to the reception where the men behind the counter said “yea we have no ac try to leave the windows open whenever there is shadow in the room, it should be a could night” What a horrible service! This hotel is meant to relax and have fun meanwhile those two things are exactly what we did not do! To conclude these are the things that to my attention the most! •nasty smell inside the house •some of the powerplugs where not working • NO AC If you are staying in Mont-Tremblant for the summer and during your visit it will be a hot week avoid this Hotel since you are not willing to sleep!
