Don't go to Au Coin if you're hungry! Au Coin is full of diners, but also severely understaffed. It was only a 10 minute wait to get a table -- outside, unfortunately -- but then it was 40 minutes before someone took our order and another 30 minutes to get the food. They don't even give you bread during the 70 minutes that you wait to eat. Meanwhile, I was bitten by several mosquitoes, so they ate more than I did during my first hour at the restaurant. I had the fish and chips, which had the smallest portions I've ever seen. Maybe I should have seen that coming when it said it was Icelandic cod, but I expected a lot more for $30. Also surprising was that the fish had no flavour. I don't know what Icelandic cod is supposed to taste like, but I know for a fact that the batter is supposed to have taste. Thankfully, it came with the best tartar sauce I've ever had. There was also a green pea purée which was good, but in no way complemented the fish. The french fries were served in a drinking cup. Unsurprisingly, they were bad. I ate them anyway, I was so hungry, but I couldn't bring myself to eat my son's fries when he chose not to eat his (having also ordered the fish and chips). The oddest part of the meal was my wife's salad. It was just some Romaine hearts, strips of bacon, and croutons on a plate. It was the ingredients for a salad, but she had to cut it up and make the salad herself. She had no trouble cutting the lettuce, but cutting the bacon was impossible. Watching my wife chop and make her own salad was bizarre; I've never seen anything like it. As disappointing as the food was, I still wish there had been more of it. I've never paid so much money to leave a restaurant hungry. I was famished by the time I got home and had to make myself a second dinner. I'm giving 2 stars because the tartar sauce did manage to save the flavourless fish, but that really was one of the worst dining experiences...

We visited this restaurant last year and enjoyed so much that we returned this summer. Unfortunately that turned out to be a huge mistake. Unfortunately it appears that the food and service have taken a turn for the worst. Here are some of the issues we experienced: -took over 20 minutes for the server/manager to come to our table. Considering the restaurant was not that busy, it was frustrating to experience. -flickering lights -fruit flies we were served white wine that was not chilled properly. We had to ask the server multiple times for an ice bucket. It finally arrived. -server/manager tried the hard upsell on the apps. A little too aggressive in my opinion -food arrived in a timely fashion but was mediocre. Last year the food was excellent and made me wanting to come for more. I don't know if they changed their menu or perhaps changed chef but the food has gone in the wrong direction in my opinion -server/manager was confrontational when she wasn't happy with the gratuity. She felt entitled for more when the service was the worst I've experienced in years and the food was mediocre. The manager/server was more interested in making excuses for all the issues rather than trying to improve upon the issues that were brought to her attention. Her terrible attitude resonated with all of the guests from our group.

Long story short, I would not recommend this restaurant anymore. There are much better options in the area where the food is better and the service...

Terrible experience. I would highly recommend eating at a convenience or fast food store instead of this place. The waitress was probably high on some drugs. She took orders from us and came back and reported coffee froth machine is not working, so she cant do the 3 capaccuinos we ordered but only flat coffee. So I requested to cancel them. Suddenly she had froth machine work again and brought them to the table. She was basically trying to reduce her work.

Then she forgot my side of mushroom risotto, and another friend's main. I requested for truffle oil in the fries for which she charged me 4$ but she forgot that too. Later she claimed that this is all chefs fault and she deserves high gratuity. she wasnt satisfied with the gratuity. She was so bitter that she insulted all of us. She said we showed up without reservation in spite of the restaurant being more than 50% empty during early lunch time. We didnt insist for a table, you dont have to do us "favours" giving us a table.

I urge the owner to pay the staff better. We are paying 30-35$ per main dish, and we assume she is so poorly paid that she wished that one day I have to do her job. I am greatly disappointed that the restaurant prices itself as a fine dine but the staff attitude is worse than you would find in a fast food outlet.

Happy to donate, you dont have to beg and...

The best service we’ve had in our trip to Mont-Tremblant. We wanted to search out a spot that was away from the commercialisation of the region, and find a more authentic pub dining experience and we were not disappointed. The pub is clean, well appointed and we were greeted by Quentin upon arrival. There was a bonfire out the front which added ambience, but we were seated right away. We ordered the Salmon Gravlax which was amazing, the Wild mussels and the Prime Rib special. We were not disappointed, the mussels was a large portion came out hot and fresh, the prime rib came out sliced and was incredibly well cooked with char grill marks and finished nicely with a rich peppercorn sauce. We had a great conversation with Quentin who was so personable and friendly, clearly passionate about his work and service. The bar is original since 1908 which is super cool and the detail from the ceiling to the seating felt genuine and charming. Do yourself a favour and get out of the tourist village and into this quaint charming spot.

This was our first time going to this fantastic pub on our March 2023 visit to Mont Tremblant, and it was Fantastic! The food was amazingly delicious, so much so that it was comparable to fine dining. Perfect steak and lobster tail with sides that were also a gastronomic delight. The fish and chips were some of the best we've ever had, with a silky, reconstructed coleslaw-puree which was an innovative twist on a traditional side that elevated the dish to a new level. Definitely way more than value for the money. The staff are so friendly, professional and welcoming. We would highly recommend this establishment to anyone who would like to experience a cozy dining experience that is minutes away from the hustle and bustle of The Mt Tremblant Village.

Pros: Au Coin burger was extremely tasty, our server was super friendly and even gave water for our dogs Cons: food took forever to arrive when we were told there was a 2hr seating limit, hostess was impolite (potentially racist, as we were the only Asian customers. We didn't see her act rudely to other non-French-speaking customers, only us), the chips from the fish and chips were so burnt we thought they were sweet potato fries, the clam chowder was very watery, and they gave us a ketchup bottle for the table that was 99% empty
