From the first moment I contacted the Cape House Bed and Breakfast, I knew this was going to be a great find. Communications, payment options and information was right at our finger tips.
Our Hosts, Shari and Al were very warm, friendly, and attentive to our every need! We were a group of 4 ladies with individual diet restrictions but Shari and Al were understanding and very specific in each of our breakfast options. Both morning breakfasts were delicious which also included some ingredients from their own back yard gardens.
Al met us with a welcoming hello as we arrived and proceeded to show us the tour around the B&B. A cozy warm house with a nautical, crisp look that was extremely clean, comfortable beds and beautiful ensuites in each bedroom. There was also a fridge, coffee maker and bottled water which definitely was bonus. Couldn't have asked for more!!
During our down time we were able to take advantage of the comfy lounge area upstairs. Other options to relax were the cozy living room on the main floor, front veranda with Adirondack chairs and a beautiful Gazebo in back yard. Unfortunately, our stay was limited and was unable to take advantage of these outside options but for sure next time!!
Location, Location, location....proximity to just about everything within a couple kilometres drive or a short distance walk. Restaurants, shopping in Old Town, wineries, Shaw Theatres, hiking trails, parks and Outlet malls all at your finger tips. Free parking in also included at the B&B.
Overall Shari & Al love welcoming guests into their home and definitely ensure that your stay is nothing but a 5 star experience. We will be definitely be staying here next time!!!
Thank you Shari & Al for making our birthday celebration weekend...
Read moreI hate to write this review because we have stayed with John and Phyllis for several years, and have been staying at this B&B through 3 owners - BUT - this year was a disappointment. As usual the house was clean and neat, and John and Phyllis were very friendly upon our arrival. Our rooms were as we remembered, but that was where the normal ended. ||We were disappointed (although we knew in advance) that we would not be getting breakfast on property, but would be given a voucher to the country club. Part of the enjoyment of a B&B is the conversation with others who are staying there. Also - the $25 voucher would have been enough for one person - but it certainly didn't cover two. We like the country club (and have eaten several meals there in the past), but it is not the same as the breakfasts we have come to expect at the Cape House. ||The second disappointment was that the rooms were not tidied. They were clean and comfortable when we arrived, but not touched while we were there - the beds were not made, etc. This was not a big deal, but it did indicate the changes.||Finally, although John and Phyllis were very friendly when we arrived and when we left, those were the only times we saw them.||John did tell us that they have been trying to sell the B&B for over a year, and that they have cut back and are only open July and August. Still - we paid as much as in previous years, but got much less. We won't be going back - I'm very...
Read moreMy husband I had the most amazing and memorable experience at Cape House B&B. We are regular travellers but it was our very first stay in a B&B. And it won’t be our last !!
From the moment we walked through their door, we felt right at home. Shari and Al are amazing hosts … friendly, funny, attentive and caring.
Breakfasts are a delight to the senses for any foodie!! Shari’s eggs Benny and her French Toast were as beautifully presented as they were delicious.
I love the decor throughout the house. Staged beautifully in fresh blues and whites! It felt like home away from home. And the garden gazebo is such a tranquil retreat to enjoy a libation or two :-).
Location is perfect. Walkable to downtown NOTL, restaurants and the lake. … yet just off the main drag away from the hustle and bustle of the busy crowds.
Our weekend was filled with emotional highs and unexpected lows as we were in NOTL to celebrate the one year anniversary of my twin sister’s passing. Although life gave us lemons, Shari and Al made them into lemonade!! Without their generosity and selflessness, we would have been stranded 200 kms away from home on a long weekend when garages are closed!!
We are eternally grateful for you both. We arrived as guests and left as friends. We can’t wait to see Al and...
