The owner of this lovely B&B has thought of every detail that guests may need (even makeup removers) providing a comfortable stay. Our mattress was very firm with a plush pillow top. The room was bright and clean with a beautiful view overlooking the yard and some of the neighborhood. The bathroom was spotless, well organized and had a soaker tub. The decor is modern and tasteful. The breakfast exceeded our expectations with two freshly baked/made courses. The owner is very knowledgeable about the community, local restaurants and wineries; she made some excellent recommendations. I would love to return!

Loved staying here, Janet is so kind full of great recommendations and makes a wonderful breakfast. The house was nice and so was the room, we had the one with the king and the bathroom across the hall and it was definitely worth it for the extra space in both the bedroom and the bathroom. The house is in a good spot about a 15-20 minute walk downtown and just about as far to the first winery in the other direction, there are multiple places to rent bikes next door. Would absolutely stay here again beautiful house in a cute town

Friendly and personable hosts. Made amazing breakfasts in the morning (see pics). But due the distancing rules, you couldn't enjoy the food with others at B&B. The place has 3 rooms, two with their own bathrooms and one with the bathroom across the hallway. We had a room with the bathroom - the shower was quite tight (2'x2'). I'm over 6 ft but slim. Fairy private - didn't hear noise from neighbors except when someone was coming or going. Highly recommended.

Under new ownership: Return visitors be aware!

We have stayed at Matisse a number of times over the years and loved being hosted by former owner Janet, her husband, and their adorable dog: Matisse, for whom the B&B was named. We discovered this time that they have sold Matisse and it is under new ownership.

Johnny, the new owner, is friendly and accommodating. He is also a landlord of multiple properties, so this is not his main focus, as it was for the previous owners. So, if you have never stayed here, you will no doubt find it pleasant and comfortable!

That being said: return visitors will miss Janet’s delicious breakfasts; Matisse no longer includes breakfast: guests must go out for breakfast to one of two specific locations and submit their receipt to Johnny, who will comp up to $35.

As a result, Matisse is no longer a “bed and breakfast”, as it does not include breakfast ON SITE, and guests should be aware of this! Room 1 used to have the hall bathroom for their private use, but this does not seem to be the case anymore, as this is where we stayed, and it seemed other guests used our bathroom, which is strange, as the other two rooms have their own ensuite.

Again- new guests will likely enjoy the place, but returning visitors will find the experience has changed and may or may not enjoy it-...

We stayed three nights , and we chose it because of great reviews, but it was not up to the five star rating in my opinion. The room was very small and the tv was located so you could not watch it while laying in bed. It was connected through WiFy and didn’t work some of the time. The chairs provided were adequate but not for sitting a long time to relax. They no longer have breakfast at the house, they give a $35.00 credit at the Best Western just across the parking lot or the Golf Club Restaurant which is along the water and the food was very good. You need to drive, but well forth it. The shower is extremely small but great water pressure.Location was a little far from town center, a 15 to 20 minute walk. There is a nice backyard with good seating and lovely water feature if you want an outdoor place to relax and there is...

We had a nice stay here for a week vacation. Beautiful room, very clean, great location. We had breakfasts at the golf club at waterfront. John, the manager, is very helpful, too. The town is beautiful with a lot to see. We are here for a friend’s wedding, originally planned to stay here for 1 night. While friends have left, we decided to stay for one more night to enjoy the beautiful Niagara Falls and surroundings., then one more night again, …finally we stayed here for completely one week. We love the restaurants and wineries. A polo game happened during our stay, which was a great surprise to us. We also rent a bike next door to explore the whole place during our stay. We will definitely come back next summer,...
