My stay at the Ramada Inn in Gananoque was a bit frustrating. My family was staying nearby at Charleston Lake Provincial Park, but I needed to "work from home" for 2 days and thought I'd get a room here so I wouldn't have to drive 4 hours home for 2 days. I had called about a month before to see if it was possible to get a late checkout so that I could stay in the room and work as long as possible, and I was told that was no problem, and that I could check at 1:30 and then finish my work day in the restaurant. When I booked, I added a line asking for late check out as well.
When I arrived, I was told no, I could not check out at 1:30, latest checkout would be 12:30, but I could work in the restaurant still. Ok, no problem.
Then, upon my date to checkout, I receive an angry phone call from the front desk at 11:30 asking why I haven't checked out yet. I explained that I was told I could have a late checkout of 12:30. The person on the phone told me that there were no notes on my file saying this and that the latest checkout that I would have possibly been allowed was 12, and I'm not allowed to stay in the restaurant to work because of health concerns. Needless to say, I was extremely frustrated at the lack of communication between employees, especially when I had been upfront about my circumstances. I was treated as though I was trying to be sneaky and as if I had done something wrong, even though I was doing exactly what I was told was ok, not once but on 2 occasions.
The room itself was not very big, but served its purpose. The bed did not have a fitted sheet- instead it had a sheet that didn't even come up to the top of the bed so the mattress was exposed. The bathroom was ok, but definitely needed cleaning. As others have stated, the "breakfast" during COVID is a little sad, but at least they are trying. The staff are perfectly kind, just with communication issues both within their ranks but also with the way they spoke to me about the whole...
Read moreCannot recommend . The Bad: "Bugs in the bathroom (spiders) , Lost and not-found, and unusable Internet" Firstly, shame on me for forgetting my Bulova watch on my bedside table after I checked out. but , going back into the hotel 5 hours later to claim it, it wasn't in the room and nobody seems to know where it was...staff was suggesting that I packed it. (i didn't) . guess I'm kissing that watch goodbye. The lost and found consisted of a drawer at front desk with sticky notes attached to things like flashlights and i think i saw an electric toothbrush. And secondly, shame on me for going with a hotel with cheap rates. suggest you spend a little more and move on before booking this. Keep in mind, this is a MOTEL, not an 'INN'. Big contrast from other Ramada's I've stayed in before. actually had to double check this was a legit Ramada. In the room, there was a WIFI signal, but the Internet was unusable on 2 separate devices, they likely had a slow and oversubscribed Internet connection . I had to instead use cellular data. The good: props to them for having the pool open . I did get a decent sleep, TV and the remote worked, A/C worked, there was in-room Coffee and a working mini fridge. They offer continental breakfast...(from the front desk I saw the standard waffle iron and toaster.) sorry to say losing my watch puts a sour note on this review, and the Ramada name for me personally.

the wooden ceiling and the brick wall in the room (i had an end unit). One Adirondack chair in front of every room was a nice touch . Open Pool .
Seems to be a family owned and family operated. I am led to believe Ramada just franchises their name with little protocol for franchisees to follow
Decent commute to Ganaoque downtown and the casino. conveniently located right off the 401 and 1000 islands pkwy. but so are a lot of...
Read moreI would like to update my previous review to say that Wyndham Rewards customer service has now resolved my issue in an adequate and professional manner. I truly appreciate the reactivity and support I received. Thank you to the team for taking care of this matter and ensuring customer satisfaction.
We booked the hotel via Priceline at the Ramada by Wyndham Gananoque. Unfortunately, we were involved in a car accident and got stuck more than 4 hours away from the hotel.
It was a Sunday, everything was closed — including car rental agencies — and we had absolutely no way to get there.
I immediately contacted both the hotel and Priceline to explain the situation and ask if there was any possible solution: a cancellation, a credit, or even just moving the reservation to the next day once our car was repaired. We were calm, honest, and simply trying to find a way to avoid losing everything.
But despite the exceptional and stressful nature of the situation, both the hotel and Priceline refused any flexibility, any gesture, or even the slightest bit of compassion. The hotel receptionist coldly repeated that the booking was “non-refundable and non-changeable,” and Priceline wouldn’t offer anything either.
We fully understand that rules and policies exist — but accidents happen, and when someone reaches out in good faith during a real emergency, showing a minimum of empathy should be the human and professional thing to do.
Instead, we were left completely alone, without support, having paid for a room we never even used. No commercial gesture, no compassion, no understanding — just a flat refusal and a complete lack of humanity.
We ended up feeling frustrated, disappointed, and honestly abandoned by both companies. This experience has made us lose all trust in both Ramada/Wyndham and Priceline. We expected...
