Everything was great until they served my butter chicken. The staff was very kind and welcoming. After a long day on the road it was so nice to go to a restaurant. I ordered butter chicken, but there was hardly any chicken in the sauce, just a few tiny pieces. I spoke to the waitress about it and she took it back to the kitchen to top it up. The cook came back with it and explained he had added 2 more pieces, that there are usually 5 pieces but he added 2 more, so there were now 7 pieces. However, each piece was the size of a chicklet. The sauce and naan were good, but I'm still upset about the chicken. Because "pieces" come in many different sizes! My partner's seafood platter was piled high and very good. So perhaps my experience was some kind of error. If not, I humbly suggest that the restaurant put a lot more chicken in their butter chicken. And I suggest that customers who want butter chicken ask how many ounces of chicken will be in it, or how many pieces and what size the...

What a pleasant surprise! My hubby and I were looking for a place to grab a bite for dinner while staying in Gananoque overnight. We decided on The When and Anchor, because it was walking distance from where we were staying, the menu online looked really tasty, and it had some really good reviews. We were not disappointed! We shared the fried platter, because we weren't super hungry. The platter came with battered haddock, calamari, butterfly shrimp, scallops, and fries, with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and coleslaw. The fish was cooked perfectly, soft and flaky on the inside, and perfectly crispy on the outside. The calamari was cooked just right. Shrimp and scallops were both nice as well. Do not order food from this restaurant! What you see on the website is not what you get. We specifically ordered the fish special because my son cannot eat gluten. What we got was breaded fish not the grilled fish that was shown on the website. In addition the honey garlic wings came with bbq sauce. When we called the restaurant, they said we must not know what honey garlic sauce is and that we could bring back the fish “as is” in order to possibly get a refund. No apology and no admission of an error if that was even what it was. Basically they could not care less. The rest of the food we ordered was as disappointing as this restaurant was.
