When we first got to the hotel and checked in , the front desk staff were very kind and helpful however when presented with our room key the staff announced our room number out loud. It’s well known that the number one rule in hotels is never announce room number out loud. If I was traveling alone as a young woman, that puts me in danger. In fact it puts anyone in danger because everyone in the lobby now knows what room that person is staying in. Please start to just point to the room number on the card as majority of hotels do. Second, the room was a nice size. Seemed decent enough, however the quilt on the bed had no cover and was ripped. Lack of quality and care for detail. I suffered an allergic reaction in the night and the only thing I am severely allergic to is dust which makes me feel either the room wasn’t clean, or the bedding has been sitting with no guests for a while. For almost $400 I’d expect better and cleaner standards. The location of the hotel isn’t worth the lack of cleanliness and upkeep. We paid $400 for a “classic room” which is listed on their website for $150 so not sure why we paid so much either. The bottom seal of the shower door was broken which caused water to get all over the cracked floor of the bathroom. The walls in the bathroom were scuffed badly. Why was this $400? It was not worth the money. Take your money somewhere that actually cleans their hotel! We got ripped off and I really hope the hotel will acknowledge their errors here.

Well located boutique hotel in the lower old city, well situated beside the charming neighborhoods. The building is currently being renovated and we were advised upon arrival to use bottled water for tooth brushing etc. housekeeping was excellent - room was kept well made. Confusing shower controls and water pooled in the shower due to apparently shoddy installation of the tile floor. Bit noisy in the early evening but quieted down by midnight in our first floor room. Second night we were awakened by fire alarms at 0230. No announcements made and no explanations. We were allowed back into our rooms by the fire department after about 45 min. Despite these issues I would probably consider staying here again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Port Royal with my wife and our little Pup during our vacation in the beautiful city of Quebec. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and exceptional service. I would like to share my experience and review this outstanding hotel.

First and foremost, the location of Hotel Port Royal is unbeatable. Situated in the heart of the city, it provided easy access to popular attractions, shopping areas, and a variety of dining options. The hotel's proximity to public transportation also made it convenient for exploring the surrounding areas.

The staff at Hotel Port Royal deserves a special mention. From the receptionists to the housekeeping team, everyone was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. They were always ready to assist with any requests or provide helpful recommendations about local sights and activities.

The room I stayed in was spacious, elegantly decorated, and meticulously clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, guaranteeing a good night's sleep after a long day of sightseeing. The amenities provided were of high quality, including a well-stocked Kitchenette, a coffee maker, and a modern bathroom with luxurious toiletries.

One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's dining options. The on-site restaurant offered a delectable selection. The attentive staff ensured a pleasant dining experience, catering to dietary restrictions and preferences.

Hotel Port Royal also boasts excellent leisure facilities. The fitness center was well-equipped with modern exercise machines, and the spa provided a tranquil retreat where I could unwind and indulge in rejuvenating treatments.

In terms of value for money, Hotel Port Royal exceeded my expectations. The level of service, coupled with the quality of amenities and facilities, made it a worthwhile investment for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Hotel Port Royal to anyone visiting Quebec City. The hotel's prime location, exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and delightful dining options create an unforgettable experience. I can confidently say that my stay at Hotel Port Royal contributed significantly to making my trip...

I stayed here on a trip to Quebec City with some family at the end of August.||It is a very nice hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful in person. The adjoining restaurant was excellent and the location could not be better - by the water, close to outstanding restaurants, and a short walk to the old part of town.||There was a lot of construction going on outside at the time, though I suspect that is probably finished by now.||The unpleasant aspect of the trip was down to a charge that was taken from me that was not fully refunded. A couple of days into my stay, I noticed a pending charge to my bank account that was similar to the cost of the stay in the hotel, despite the fact that I had prepaid with Hotels.com.||When I queried this at the front desk, they very politely and pleasantly explained that, after I had checked in, they had accidentally charged me again instead of billing Hotels.com. I was assured that I would receive a full refund. When I got back to Ireland, I found I did indeed receive a refund, but that this was €50 less than what had been taken out of my account.||This seemed pretty clear to be due to fees associated with the international transfer for the refund (the card I had given at check-in was my Irish credit card). As I did not feel that I should be the one responsible for these fees given that the mistake had been the hotel's, I engaged Hotels.com to follow-up. Hotels.com, despite talking a good game and contacting the hotel for me, were ineffective and told me I had to follow-up with them myself.||The hotel took the stance that they had refunded what they had taken from me in error and then did not respond to my follow-up email.||Thus, despite it being a lovely hotel, I would not go back considering what I consider to have been theft of €50 from me - not a huge amount but enough to sting and to feel I had been made a fool of.||At this stage, I do not expect any recompense, but I am posting this so that others are forewarned so that they can avoid this...

My wife and I planned to visit for first time Quebec City, so we saw Hotel Port-Royal like a good for spent 4 night in there...We found a room super cheap so We took it...on first night we saw the room and was pretty nice for 2 people BUT the bed was horrible, we couldnt sleep well for that give 2 START STAR FOR THAT (first 2 nights).

So day my wife said "we need to say something because I cant more sleep there" so I approached to the reception and in there was a nice guy (I lost your name in the hotel room) but MAYBE the last name is Marcer or Marcel or Mercer (he was in reception on octuber 25th, around 6 to 8pm in the hotel) I talked to him about the problem and without questions or whys, he super nice said "no problem at all I gonna find a new room for you guys" he made us an option and upgrade our room, so for the same price we changed to a new, better and fantastic room, but We need to wait one night more because the room didnt available for us, one day later after move, he asked us about the room and how confortable us in there (that detail made us at home)

Also the restaurant next to the hotel, Amazing plates and delicious, super super cheap to eat there (than made us surprise because for how the restaurant is and atmosphere is inside We Though could be expensive), for 2 entrees, two mains and 2 dessert no more than $160, (I am a Chef in Toronto, so I said 100% recommend)

in conclusion: We really really glad to stayed in that hotel, great option, great location to eat, buy or walk around, and also most important 10 minutes walk to the train station so definitive next year we will come back.

My wife and I say thanks a lot for made our first experience in Quebec the best one so far.

I hope can give you guys a 5 start but, the price, discounts and also the picture saw in internet(great deal) versus how we felt in the first room in the first 2 night, but the solution gave us and all that thing is...
