We were a bit disappointed on the food. Do not understood the hype around it. The pizza dough wasn’t fermented enough, tasted much more like a dense bread it was hard and heavy. The toppings were good quality ingredients. We had the spinach and ricotta arancini, it was ok. We really like that they were finish in the pizza oven. 🤗 Caesar salad; little sad cause they used Gaspor porc as bacon but the bits are so tiny and overcooked that it doesn’t bring any plus to the plate. The burrata appetizer was served warm on cooked non-seasoned tomatoes. We wish we could know before ordering as we were expecting more like a caprese. In our opinion, it kind of kills the freshness of the burrata wich is it’s main purpose.
⭐️ On the other hand, the service was very friendly. Even though they were obviously in a rush as they were only 2 people and the place was full, our waitress was patient, kind and big smile! Hope you guys will find more staff for the beginning of the season, we understand it’s complicated.
🍷 We absolutely love the idea of the tiny glass of wine for few bucks.!! Not a bad wine and beer selection btw! A very nice decor. Price are absolutely fair.
We might give another shot. It’s full of good intentions. We might get luckier next time. Will be happy to update our...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our meal here at the St Paul Location. While our server, Chloe, was initially running service alone when we arrived, this didn’t take away from how warm, friendly and attentive she was with us. Chloe even took the time to sit down at our table to share a list of areas to visit in the city - bars, restaurants etc. Now to the food - we ordered the ricotta and artichoke pate and arugula and mozzarella salad with added anchovies (both delicious, fresh and good portions), and we had the capriccio pizza on a gluten free base and the other pizza was the grilled vegetable on a regular base. Both yummy. I’ve had many sad gluten free bases in my time, and this wasn’t one of them. Yes a little more dense and spongy than a traditional Italian base, but it was flavourful and had some bounce and lightness to it (see photo) It was a long way from the usual premade piece of gluten free cardboard most pizza restaurants offer. Very pleasantly surprised. The toppings were generous and it left no room for dessert this time. Thanks Chloe and the Pizzeria...
Read moreHaving read other reviews, we were so excited to have an opportunity to have an authentic Neapolitan style Diavola pizza which we have had many many times in Europe. I will interrupt this and say the service was fantastic..friendly, prompt, professional - you would not get better service at a 5* restaurant. Now back to the pizza - we were very disappointed and learned that we should have read the menu more closely. The "leoparding" on the bottom of the pizza was fantastic, but it was the toppings that really let us down. This is the first time I have heard of a diavola not having a tomato sauce, nor buffalo mozzerella - all three of us had the same opinion - excellent service, very very nice atmosphere, but disappointing pizza. However, we did see a Margarita Pizza that looked fantastic. Our recommendation - read the menu closely because this is not a European authentic Italian...
