Overall: I cannot recommend staying here. I have never had such a disappointing experience at a 3-star hotel, let alone one that claims to be 4 stars. This property does not deserve its rating.
Location: If you have a midnight flight, this hotel’s only advantage is its proximity to the airport, with free shuttles every 30 minutes. Other than that, it is in the middle of nowhere. The nearest station is a 15-minute walk away, with nothing around it. If you’re fine ordering Uber Eats, it’s manageable (I noticed many rooms had Uber Eats bags outside), but if you’re expecting good dining options nearby, look elsewhere.
Reception: At check-in, the receptionist gave us no information about the hotel—no mention of the restaurant location or hours, shuttle schedule, or any amenities. We had dropped off our luggage earlier and had baggage claim tickets. When I showed mine, the receptionist led me to a backroom full of bags and told me to pick mine myself, without even checking the ticket. That is shockingly poor security for a hotel.
Room cleaning: The next day, we returned around 4 p.m. to find our room had not been cleaned. When I called reception, I was asked if I had left a “Do Not Disturb” sign—which we never even had in the room. I requested only towels and water. A staff member eventually brought them but was extremely unprofessional: he ignored my greeting, shoved the items at me without a word, and only muttered “Ya” when I thanked him.
Restaurant: We tried the hotel restaurant (after figuring out where it was ourselves). Service was very poor: only two staff members were working, clearly not enough. It took 10 minutes just to receive menus, and when the server arrived, he was cold, unfriendly, and spoke as if annoyed. The food itself was okay, but one of the olives we were served looked damaged in a way that was concerning—I can only hope it wasn’t a leftover from another customer.
Conclusion: This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in years of travel. With unhelpful staff, poor service, and questionable cleanliness, I cannot recommend this...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience at this hotel. We got to the airport pickup location for hotels at 12:20 PM just in time to see the Radisson Blu shuttle leaving. We waited for another and it never came when an airport employee showed us where a phone was to contact hotels in the area. I had tried calling the hotel from my cell but couldn’t get an answer. From this special phone we found out that the shuttle had quit running for several hours (it was supposed to run till 1PM.). They told us to take a taxi and they would reimburse us which they did in cash $20 cad. Checking went well and staff was friendly. We got into room even though it was before checking time. It was very hot in the room and the ac would not turn on. We called the front desk and they sent someone up right away. He took some stuff apart and got it going saying that it was off because nobody had been in the room for too long. We went downstairs waiting for it cool down but the system shut off shortly after we left because nobody was in front of a sensor. So still very hot in the room. We got ready for an early dinner with friends at the NEAREST restaurant. That was a 20 minute walk across a busy bridge. Got back from a nice dinner, but the room was still very hot. We had to get up at 3 AM to catch our flight so we went to bed in the hot room with the system running and starting to slowly cool it down. I woke 2 hours later to a hotter room. The system had stopped again and it wouldn’t restart. It was 80 degrees f. Our travel lock has the room temperature on it. Tawnee was still sleeping and I didn’t want to wake her. I didn’t call again so Tawnee could keep sleeping. When she woke up it was midnight. Three hours till we had to get up. We propped the door open but the hallway was warm also so we didn’t get much relief. Took shower at 3AM and got downstairs at 3:30 to catch a cab that they had called for us to be there at 3:30. The cab was a little late but we had allowed for that. Short ride to airport. Bottom line would never...
Read moreI was told there is a 3 year long strike going on at this hotel that has something to do with the following issues. I don't know the details of why that is or if it's fair to the ownership, but in either case I would have preferred to know that before I booked. So here you go.
Overall I thought the hotel could have been very nice. The facility and staff are great however these 2 issues made it difficult for me to appreciate those aspects of my stay:
No AC in the rooms due to the inability to get appropriate staffing to switch over from heat to cool. It is currently the end of March so weather here is relatively cool and pleasant however since onsite staff is unable to control climate settings, the building system is blowing constant warm air throughout the building which causes the rooms to feel warm.
Staff could only offer a fan and a suggestion to open the tiny window about 6 feet above your head. If you happen to come here when this is an issue, I suggest seeing the photos attached to give you an idea on how you might deal with this issue.
Overall it wasn't uncomfortable to be in the room except for sleep since I'm used to sleeping in a room that can be cooled down.
The internet connection was also not operable during some portions of my stay which made working difficult to accomplish from the room. The main floor lobby had a good connection however.
Overall - I'm sure the hotel could be really nice, however I feel that management/leadership somewhere missed the mark to leave onsite staff with no good solutions to deal with the warmth other than passing out fans to guests. Maybe it's just an American thing, but my preference for a room is to be able to cool the room and not rely on a little window. Or at least have the ability for the staff to stop running hot air through the...
