Went to this restaurant for dimsum and had an awful experience due to horrible customer service. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We ordered our food and the server noted down the wrong item. When the item arrived, we let them know that we did not order that dish and the server rudely told us "yes you did" and walked away. We tried to tell them again that we did not order the dish and the server basically threw the paper order confirmation at us and again, rudely said "yes you did". When we looked over the order sheet we saw that the wrong item was listed under the actual item we ordered and the server had put the wrong item. We were not upset over that, but the attitude we recieved was unnecessary.
The second display of bad attitude we witnessed was when they brought us our deep fried dumplings. They had placed it infront of us and we had asked if they could cut them in half. The server looked at us acknowledging that we asked to have the dumplings cut in half but she then walked away. We tried to ask another server but they also ignored us and we had to ask a third server to finally get the dumplings cut in half.
Finally when we got the bill, the lowest option on the machine was 10% for tip but I like to tip before tax rather than ontop of tax so I pressed "other". The server saw us press "other" on the machine so she stopped us and told us that we have to tip atleast 10% or else the machine will not process the payment. My dad asked if its a requirement to tip 10% and the server did not respond but she was giving us a dirty look. I proceeded to press "other" and I tipped 10% before tax anyways and the server angrily grabbed the machine and stormed away.
Personally, with how awful the service was and with them trying to manipulate and convince me the machine worked a certain way so they can get more tip, I'd argue they didnt deserve...
Read moreI really want to like this place, but it’s a bit of a nightmare to visit and based on that, revisits from me will likely be slim.
First, the parking situation here is absolutely brutal! There’s maybe 10 spots available and the rest are reserved 24/7. This makes the parking lot an absolute nightmare. Next, we booked a table weeks in advance for 11:30AM, but we didn’t get seated until closer to 12:30PM. This is sometimes typical for some popular dim sum places, but I do with it’s not common practice, especially an hour wait.
The service, well, the front of house staff were very attentive and friendly. It’s a stressful spot they’re in. Once we finally got seated, they took our tea order. A few moments later another staff member asked for our tea order and we said we already gave it to another staff. Fast forward 10 mins, our first dish arrived but our tea had not. We asked the staff again and they angrily told us that we had said we already ordered as if it was our fault. Well we did order, just that whoever took our order never put it in, but put in the food order no problem. The simple response would have been to ask what kind of tea was ordered and just check if it was keyed in.
Now, if you’ve read this far, you’re probably wondering is it worth going? Well, to be honest, the food is good. The dim sum is really good and top notch. Except their sheng jian bao, it’s advertised as pork, but there’s shrimp in there, very important if someone in your family has a shellfish allergy. Other than all those points, the food is good and worth a visit if you can tolerate terrible parking, okay service, and wait times regardless of reservations.
Bonus: there’s free wifi in case...
Read moreWe dined here few days ago for a 10-people King Crab & Peking Duck dinner priced at $988, and it was the worst dining experience we've ever had in town.
The soup was overpoweringly salty. The Peking duck was cold and dry, and the second dish (stir-fried with veggies) was mostly vegetables—there was barely any meat left.
The King Crab was clearly shortchanged - they clearly took half of the crab (we eat king crab at restaurants a regular basis, once every two weeks so we know). The fried rice made with it was burnt—you could tell just without putting it in our mouth. Even the staff noticed the burnt smell and replaced it with a different seafood fried rice.
The sour fish soup looked and tasted like dirty water—completely flavorless, lacking sourness, salt, or any seasoning. The fish itself was not fresh, and at that point, we didn’t even bother complaining because everything was so disappointing.
The vegetables were undercooked—they still had a raw, grassy smell. And again, not hot at all.
The only dish with a decent presentation was the chicken, but it was freezing cold and completely tasteless. Even the green onion and ginger sauce had no flavor—we had to ask them to add salt.
Oh btw, the yam were sour in the taro yam dessert. And yes, we didnt even bother saying more because we were so fed up.
This was, without a doubt, the worst meal we’ve ever had. Not a single dish was worth eating, let alone $1,000.
Stay away from having dinner at this place. We initially came because the dim sum was good, but after this experience, we will never, ever return for dinner. We have never been to a restaurant that left us so disappointed and unsettled...
