LOCAL Public Eatery Sherwood — Restaurant in Sherwood Park

I was going to take my family to eat here in July 29th, 2024 for my daughter’s 26th birthday after reading some of the recent negative reviews. I ultimately decided to judge it honestly and took my family. My assessment is that the hostess was the main issue, when greeted at the door the hostess proceeded to sit us at a table that had not been wiped down, when she was asked about how the food was she stated that she couldn’t give her opinion as she had not tried most of the food, and when asked what she would recommend she also couldn’t recommend anything. When the hostess was advised that the table was dirty her demeanour was that it was an inconvenience and complained that the water was to hot on the cloth, after wiping the table she had left the table soaking wet.

A first impression lasts and set the mood for the entire dinning experience, I would suggest this person be better trained to provide a better customer experience.

The server was excellent, demeanour was on point and the server was attentive 7/10 times during the dining experience.

I would also recommend replacing some of the manures, and menus cards as they seem well used and a little tattered. Again first impressions go a long way.

The only other critique I would make is not to have groups of staff sitting around socializing, staff should appear busy and attentive to the customers and carrying out tasks. When staff are productive a business will save unnecessary expense from lack thereof.

The food was adequate the blackened chicken sandwich was spot on I would recommend this food item, all three patrons had the same dish. The fries however could be improved however fries at any restaurant are always hot and miss.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Local public eatery, and I can confidently say it was one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in a long time.

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm, inviting atmosphere. The décor strikes a perfect balance between cozy and upscale, making it great for both casual outings and special occasions.

The staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Our server took the time to explain the menu, offer thoughtful recommendations, and check in throughout the meal without being intrusive.

Now, the food—incredible. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. I had to try the famous pulled pork baked pasta and it very well may my expectations, and it was cooked to perfection. You can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the attention to detail in every bite was obvious.

I also appreciated how accommodating the kitchen was with dietary preferences—there were great options for vegetarians, and they seemed very open to customization.

Whether you're a foodie looking for your next favorite spot or just someone who loves great service and delicious food, local public eatery is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back—and bringing friends!

WILL WAS AMAZING...

Awful. There was a group of dozens of unruly (maybe) 18 year olds it was an awful atmosphere. Staff did nothing to keep them under control as they were screaming and throwing stuff. They had obviously brought their own cans of twisted teas in their shirts but no one cared. In fact, they must’ve been the wait staff’s buddies as the servers and hosts were hanging out with them most of the night. If you ever see a contest going on here you can be sure that it is rigged, as this group of idiots that were friends with the wait staff won the “burn you bill” contest 3 times in a row. Convenient. I only know that because these guys were yelling about it. Honestly I will never come here again. Miserable. Decent food but makes no sense. Who wants an ahi tuna bowl or edamame at a casual/ sports bar. Burgers are decent though. The management needs to get a grip on staff before this becomes some high school’s hang out place instead of an actual restaurant. I clearly wasn’t the only one annoyed by this either.
