We were passing through and just looking for a place to sleep for a couple hours. We though the in expensive rooms would be a decent idea, how bad can it be? We checked the reviews and decided this place didn't sound so bad. We'd read reviews of the trains going by but as we already live by tracks we were able to ignore them passing, what we couldn't ignore was the music from the bar down stairs. It literally (like for real incase anyone thought I was using that word loosly) shook our bed! I felt like we were in a coin operated bed while falling asleep. The rooms have no ac but they do have a fan so that worked out for us. The window only opens enough to let the voices of people leaving the bar or smoking outside in unfortunately not enough to support a breeze. The TV reminded me of my childhood. The remote didn't work unless it was at just the right angle which was impossible to achieve from anywhere other than right in front of the TV anyway so we just used the buttons, the bf got lots of exercise changing the volume. I'll try to attach a photo of how the picture was on the TV. It took until about a half an hour into our stay for us to figure out exactly what the issue with the bed was. I laid down and it felt like maybe the bed was broken causing the middle to be higher than the edge causing the feeling of falling out of bed. I mentioned this to Shawn and he replied something like really, I feel like I'm being pulled to the middle. Indeed the bed was on a huge slant! I spent the night desperately trying to stay on the bed while my bf kept invading my side of the bed. Good thing we like each other 😉. We both woke up with the worst knots in our backs and spent the last leg of our travel in some of the worst pain we've had lately.
So would I stay here again? Probably not by myself. If I come through valemount and want an obnoxiously loud bar to spend time at I will stop here. If I'd like to spend some time in something similar to a twilight zone then yes I'd stop here. If I really just needed a roof over my head for cheep I'd stop here.
I must admit that everyone should stay here at least once just for the experience. This review isn't meant to hurt business or cause people not stay here I just had to describe the experience. It brought us closer as a couple. We had a really fun time and the staff really were wonderful. We arrived quite late after a day of driving, they were great and let us know that until two am we could check in at the bar. We stayed down and had a drink. There is beautiful full wall murals all over the bar. They have coffee makers in the rooms and do a great job drowning out the trains people complained so much about. We only heard one and it was while we were outside.
Could the establishment improve, yes but can't they all? I might bring my family here just so they can appreciate the experience! The experience as a whole, the story we took away from it and the fact that we did get some much needed shut eye makes this well...
Read moreI rated this hoping that people know that they are getting what they pay for, this is clearly not a 5-star hotel but the rating should be more so of how well your expectations carried over. At first we were wary, but the rooms had fans, and were clean, and the owner was always around. When we ran out of toilet paper he ran upstairs with more himself. "It's ok!" we said. "No, it's not, there should of been extra" he said. He was also the bartender I think lol, and made us delicious caesars while we talked with him for over an hour. It was during the week so no one was really there but there is a liquor store, a pizza parlour, and a pub with a karaoke floor. The hotel is also a few minutes walk from downtown Valemount, as well as some nice hikes in the area like Swift Creek Lookout! The owner was such an interesting and kind fellow, he had come to Denmark and this hotel is his baby, though he's ready to retire now on his hobby farm with his wife. Yes, you will hear the horn all night, and no, there is no AC. But you are paying for something cheap for whatever your adventure has taken you there for, and the place is good and owned by a good-hearted person. Who makes darn...

The room had two double beds no carpet darker beige walls? Dresser with hangers above. With one red brick accent wall. A flat screen (didn’t use), table with 3 chairs. Mini fridge and microwave. Coffee maker (didn’t use) Modern plug next to bed with usb Type c plug. The bathroom was awkward. Peeling paint cover up job wall behind toilet was dirty, piece of hair on tub grout had some mould. . 2 hand towels 4 towels no face cloth. 4 mini shampoo bottles 2 soap bars. Blow dryer. Large bath tub with jets(didn’t use = breeding ground for bacteria). The plug barely fit for a bath but lucky worked. Faucet was dirty, and drips aka wastes water 😬.. the curtain was a pain to move and falling apart. Wish it wider and a black out to block out the light. 1am and 8am the room was moving. Glad my kid was asleep if you know what I mean. Well I assume that’s what it was… In the end it doesn’t give a secure I’m clean homey vibe. Just good enough to crash for a night vibe. $150 with tax for a night. Oh and apparently...
