I stayed here for three nights, paying USD30/night through booking.com for a single private room with shared bathroom.||||The location is good, a very short walk from both of the bus terminals and (Casto being fairly small) an easy walk from just about everything you might want to see (except possibly the modern art museum, which is a long way from everything else anyway).||||The room was small but clean and in fairly good decorative order. The shared bathroom was a bit more dilapidated (missing tiles and rather old fittings) but it was clean and there was always hot water available. I did have to queue a bit for access, mainly around midnight before going to bed, but it was never ridiculous.||||The wifi worked well.||||I was told there was a midnight curfew but I may have been misinformed. However, I didn't see much opportunity to stay out past about 11pm anyway, so this is hardly a big deal. At all times of the day access is via ringing the doorbell and waiting to be let in; this is obviously good for security, but I did find it slightly irksome all the same.||||I would definitely consider staying here again on a future...
Read moreAs the options for hostels in Castro are not that various, we decided to stay in the Hostal Cordillera. Actually we wanted to stay in a dorm, but they told us it isn´t yet ready, so that they told us to take a double room. After arranging an option for staying in a double room without breakfast, we were lucky to pay nearly as much as in a dorm. But one has to say that the rooms are really old and not very atmospheric, as well as the bathrooms, kitchen and dining room. Because of that fact it isn´t a very chilly and relaxing hostal, where you want to hang out. Furthermore, even though they say the kitchen is for common use, the owners did not seem to be very happy to have us preparing meals in their kitchen, as they use it as their private kitchen as well and the kitchen is not very well equipped and totally not comfortable for common use. ||Over all one should not expect to much from...
Read moreI went through hell…BUT this place was heaven. We went through all of Punta Arenas, looking for a place to stay for the night after our first hostel, which was disappointing. After SIX hours of searching in town and stopping at other hostels and hotels, we were ready to give up. Through booking.com, we found this beautiful haven; it smelled so lovely and was homey. Our room was a one-bedroom apartment with a full bath and kitchen, queen, twin, and futon perfect for four people. It was clean and included complimentary breakfast and wifi. The staff was lovely and friendly, accommodating, and held our luggage for the day. They made more eggs for breakfast for my friend and let us wait for our bus inside for an hour. I have to say I’m surprised this place does not have five stars. I would book as soon as possible location is amazing, food is great, people are amazing, and...
