Nobile Hotel Estacion Central — Hotel in Estación Central

This is an excellent hotel for the price, USD52 or AUD75 per night, twin room. We stayed for 6 nights. The room and bathroom were clean with fresh towels when requested. Beds are comfortable and pillows are soft. I always judge a hotel on the pillows! The hotel is in a slightly grungy part of town BUT it's within easy walking distance to the main Railway Station, Metro station and the airport Turbus terminal. It has an excellent buffet breakfast (included in the tariff) and the dinner menu is well priced. The staff were very helpful and provided us with a take-away breakfast on the morning we were departing before the restaurant opened. Chose a Best Western b/c we have Diamond rewards status and use them often. When I found Santiago had one I booked it online through the BW web site and everything looks beautiful. When our driver picked us up at the airport, the first thing he asked was why we decided to stay in this neighborhood. He told us please don't go out at night so we did not. The next day we ordered an Uber to take us to the Historic District where we had a walking tour booked. Again our driver asked why this neighborhood. So to be fair ... apart from the area with it's homeless people sleeping on the streets and in the parks ... the hotel itself was just fine. It was clean and offered all the amenities that we needed. We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. We arrived before 9 am, way before our check in time. However, they provide us a room to store our luggage, which gave us a peace of mind and so we could use our time to tour around the city. |All the staffs were good, and Samuel Rios at the front desk was the best. He handled our luggage storage and check-in. He was very friendly, efficient, and professional. He even helped me and my husband to book a day trip on the next day, which we hadn't planned before. Despite we asked him to book the tour after 6 pm, we got a phone confirmation at around 9 pm.
