We had a confirmation for another hotel near the bus station as we were taking the bus to Mendoza the day after our flight. The other hotel had rebooked our room and made this reservation for us instead. The price was only a few US $ less for this hotel so we expected it to be comparable to the nearby modern hotel. wrong. This is a very old hotel with tiny rooms. We had no outside window. There was an open transom for the on,y air from the bathroom to the hallway! There were two bedside lamps; neither had bulbs. The fan n the room did not work, so a large floor fan was brought in that took upmost of the walking space. Breakfast was to be included. It consisted of instant coffee and two slices of stale bread. The biggest problem was the neighborhood. Very seedy. No cafés or places to escape. We did not leave our room after checking in around 4:00 pm. We will say the shower worked and the bed was comfortable enough to sleep. But then we had had no sleep for 36 hours before our arrival! If we had not been so tired and not hauling significant luggage, or if we had some one who spoke English to assist us, or if we could have gotten Internet here,we have booked somewhere else. No one at hotel spoke any English. The two women there were kind to us, however and tried very hard. Very sad start to our South American 6...
Read moreThis is a dingy little place near central station in Santiago (not the safest area) the photo shown of the hotel is actually the shopping complex opposite. Advertised parking but we were unable to find other than the shopping centre carpark which closes at midnight till 6am and is a good 10-15min walk. Don't go here, the IBIS accross the road is much nicer and only a little...
