Reference: Penthouse 01, Room 901|Stay: November 27 - December 05, 2024||It is with a heavy heart that I write this negative review about an experience in my home country. Unfortunately, this was by far the most miserable and worst hotel experience I have ever had.||From the start, the service was unacceptable. During check-in, the receptionist, Juan Carlos, who seemed to be in charge, was extremely rude and refused to explain the charges in USD. Having left Chile after finishing college, I am not familiar with the local currency. If this establishment claims to be an international hotel, such behavior is nonsensical. Furthermore, Juan Carlos appeared to treat the client ahead of me—who was from Spain and white—differently, which was unsettling.||To make matters worse, I was not informed that the penthouse room I rented, supposedly the best they offer, required an iPad to control essential functions like the curtains, the TV in the second bedroom, and the central AC. The room was outdated and fell short of international standards.||On the second day of my stay, I became sick and requested a blanket to be cleaned. I was assured it would be returned the next day, but it never arrived.||The only positive aspect of my stay was the excellent customer service provided by Jeanette, who was polite and attentive.||On the day of check-out, both Juan Carlos and another receptionist, Alfredo, provided an invoice but refused to explain the charges in USD (my primary currency). Their tone was aggressive and intimidating, which is unacceptable treatment, especially for a guest paying for their highest-tier room. This ordeal wasted 1.5 hours of my time—time I had planned to spend with my family before my departure.||To add insult to injury, I spoke with the operations manager, who seemed more concerned about avoiding bad reviews than resolving my issues. I was promised an email follow-up, but it has been five days, and no email has arrived.||Additionally, the cleanliness of the room was subpar. The closet had a dead mosquito, and the entire room was in desperate need of an update. It did not match the pictures advertised online.||In conclusion, this hotel is far from meeting even one-star standards. The overall experience was disappointing and abusive, leaving me with memories I would...

Read moreWe just returned from 4 weeks in Chile and the only bad experience we had with a hotel was with 45 by Director and Director- both are owned and supposedly managed by the same people. However, there does not appear to be any professional management - there is no on site manager at the 45. We were there with a group attending a wedding and we all had problems. Some of us had no AC for several nights, one couple had no electricity at all for a night, one couple had to sleep in the clothes they brought for Patagonia- this is all because it is impossible to regulate the temperature in your own room. It is all controlled by the front desk. We all would have much preferred to pay more and stay at another hotel- the guests that stayed at nearby hotels were much happier. The staff at the front desk tries their best but there is no manager on site who is accountable. In addition to the AC issues, we were erroneously charged for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip which we never confirmed. We have tried repeatedly to contact the hotel by email and have been ignored. We had no choice but to file a dispute on our credit card. ||We are seasoned travelers and when I have an issue with a hotel, I attempt to handle it directly with a manager before resorting to writing a negative review. Our first two in Santiago we stayed at a wonderful hotel, Le Reve, which we loved! every other hotel on our trip, was great- Explora, Hotel Awa, Futangue, Hotel Remota, to name a few. This is our only negative experience in a month of travels and I am very sorry I had to write...
